For the wine tasting portion, whenever you are ready for your next wine, you have to get up and walk to the counter. I've been to other wine tastings before and I found this a little strange because usually they will come around with the bottle and pour it for you so you can stay comfy in your seat. While our trip to the winery was a nice break from the chaos of Bass Canyon, I don't think we'll be back here again unless it's just to grab a couple of glasses of wine.

I'm guessing some things have changed since our visit, but hopefully not much. I loved the pretty old building, the chat with the woman behind the bar, the wine tasting, and the pre-packed charcuterie from Olive + Pine. I think they also had some locally made caramels which had a nice story. I left wishing we had a tasting room just like this one in Pullman.

The views are an absolutely amazing, depends…read moreon the kind of experience you are looking for, you can either stay down in the bowl near the stage or relax up the hill and take in the scenery. There are plenty of food and drink options in the venue (overpriced as you'd expect at any concert venue), but you can also bring in food and factory sealed water, there are also plenty of water filling stations on the ground. The restrooms/ porta potties are equipped with real sinks and soap, which is definitely a plus! The venue is HUGE, so prepare to do lot of walking. It's also pretty remote, about 2.5hr from Seattle. You can either camp at the venue or stay in nearby small towns. I've done both and both worked out pretty well, each with its own perks. If you get the chance to see a concert here, I definitely recommend it!!

Be prepared to ruin your favorite shoes and slide your way down to the stage whether you want to or not. * The climb of doom: Getting down to the venue is a fun stroll, but walking back up that brutally steep incline after standing for five hours feels like vertical hiking. Your legs will hate you for the next three days. Bottom Line: The view is a 10/10, but the physical endurance test and the mud swamp knock it down to average. Bring hiking boots and a lot of patience!

The staff was absolutely outstanding and made it a great experience for my daughter (and by extension, my wife and I). The poker experience was also great. It was really enjoyable to visit a place with such great staff, and where the other players, either blackjack or poker, also seemed to be very nice people, with a very relaxed attitude. We're looking forward to visiting again.

The Thorp Mill is an old flour mill originally built in 1883 that has been beautifully restored…read more It is striking see the before and after pictures of the building online. The before picture makes me wonder if they had to completely rebuild the walls because the building looks like it's about to topple over. After walking through the place, I can confirm that not all the walls have been rebuilt. The walls around the milling equipment look like they are a hundred years old and would be very drafty in the winter. The milling equipment is in remarkable condition for being 100 years old. I'm sure none of it works now but it's easy to see how it might have worked and the full milling process. One interesting fact is that the grain has to run through the mill 13 times before it is ground down enough to be flour. That would be a tremendous amount of energy and machining to create one bag of flour. In order to create the mill, they diverted the Yakima River water into manmade pools before it flowed through the mill, powering the machines. These pools froze over in the winter, creating another product that could be shipped East: ice. They chopped the ice into large blocks then stored them in sawdust to be sold at a later time. It was an early example of a seasonal business: flour in the summer and ice in the winter.
