Does the idea of spending a few days in a rainforest surrounded by whales, eagles, bears and seals appeal to you? Would it be better if there was an awesome series lf hiking trails right outside your door? Would it be even better if the staff were some of the kindest people in the world and the whole thing felt like home? Well, Klahoose is all of this and more. It is also native-owned and offers a real chance to immerse yourself in indigenous Salish Coast culture. This place will rejuvenate you and change your life. read more

Welcome to Klahoose Wilderness Resort, British Columbia's newest Indigenous cultural experience. The luxury wilderness resort opened in summer of 2021 and is 100% Indigenous owned by the Klahoose First Nation. A resort that reflects the Klahoose traditional values and offers an immersive exploration into this pristine region rich in diverse wilderness, cultural significance and wildlife including late summer and fall grizzly bear viewing tours in Toba Inlet. Located within the heart of Desolation Sound, Klahoose Wilderness Resort, formerly known as Homfray Lodge, resides upon Homfray Channel between the Coast Mountain peaks of British Columbia's Sunshine Coast and the Northern Islands of the Salish Sea. Newly arrived guests join together on the lodge's verandah where they welcomed with a traditional Klahoose greeting. Worries instantly disappear as osprey call across the Sound, the vision of an orca's distinct dorsal fin breaks the water's surface, and the ocean breeze wafts through the surrounding conifer forest. Over the course of this exquisite visit, guests "Answer the Call" to embrace the natural and Indigenouse spirit of the place. Season is from May to October and stays are with all-inclusive 3 and 4 night wildlife and cultural packages.
History
Established in 2008.
Klahoose Wilderness Resort was original erected in 2008, as Homfray Lodge. Substantial further improvements were added after 2011 including: a new duplicate chlorine water filtration system; environmentally friendly septic system; hydro electric system, thanks to a river that runs through the property, with 24/7 power and back up generator; a massive dock for water sports and marine activities. In 2017 the resort was re-imagined as an all-inclusive eco-resort with stays including wilderness cruising, marine adventures, yoga retreats and grizzly bear viewing in Toba Inlet. In 2020, Homfray Lodge was purchased by Qathen Xwegus Management Corporation (QXMC) , the Klahoose First Nation's Economic Development Corporation and re-named Klahoose Wilderness Resort and is now an Indigenous and Wildlife Viewing resort in Desolation Sound, BC. Season is from May to October
