    They get zero stars from me but unfortunately Yelp won't let me do that…read more I was with Hotlink (Tera-Byte Wireless) for over 5 years (they were really my only option in this rural area) and their service and attitude was pathetic. They claimed that I was getting "high speed internet" but keeping a log of speed tests with their own internet server (bad way to do a test on an internal network) showed my average speed was less than 200 kbps. Dialup would have been about 40kbps. High speed should have been more like 2000 kbps or 2Mbps. Their service never ever came close to that. When I called customer service the attitude was always "it's not the network's fault, it's your hardware's fault. Your radio is working just fine." Or your speed test numbers are wrong... we show you did log in on that date but the test numbers are different than what you're saying they are." Strange since I would always log the number EXACTLY as what their speed test returned to me. Well I'd finally had enough and cancelled my service in September. Despite my call the service was not cancelled and they continued to bill me until December. They allege that they told me in September that there was an amount outstanding on my bill for September and that they could not cancel the service until that was paid off. At no time did anyone tell me that on the phone. They claim they have the call recorded but say they cannot provide me with a copy of that recording. Seriously? They're a computer tech company and they have no way (or no knowledge) of how to get an audio file off of their own system? C'mon. Maybe try putting a pocket recorder up to the phone receiver if you're that inept. At any rate, they claim I never cancelled the account until November and will not give me a refund for October and November. Today I called them about the December charge and they tell me it was a refund and my bank must have screwed up. Seriously? I think VISA has a pretty good handle on what's a refund and what's a charge. Pathetic technical service and pathetic customer service. Slow internet speeds and huge attitude of "we can do no wrong, it's all your fault." Stay far, far away from this company. Oh, and by the way.. when I had my new ISP hook me up they looked at the hardware Hotlink/Tera-Byte was using and said it was at least five years out of date and likely the primary reason I couldn't get good internet speed.

We are about to move, submitted a cancellation request for our service a week earlier to have our internet cut off on last day of our cycle. But either the agent we talked to Elina Martinez or their irresponsible vendor cut our Internet 6 days earlier although we have paid for our services full. And We really needed internet. We did not appreciate this. Pay for a service to be cut off and they will act like it's your fault although you have written email communications and ticket numbers for your inquiries. Other agents we talked to were extremely rude not helpful at all just wanted to get rid of someone demanding their service back which was already paid for. He was the one who helped us have our internet connection back with a new device and good price. Talked to him more than one hour and got a good deal. He is patient and very understanding. Although he couldn't do refund or reactivate it without 50$ activation fee again, he walked up through the process and all options to choose something that works for us. Last agent we talked to Elina Martinez not happy with her. We have confirmed over 5 times we want our internet up to last day and still she cut it off a day after our call whilst we have paid for our service. Get us company despite all the cheap internet that they provide always does this. They always cut your internet sooner that they should, no matter you have paid for it, requested on time( they ask you to request a week in advance and then always do this) and have a contract. Which makes it frustrating to follow up all the time. As you see we had to buy another service while we have paid for our precious one in full. And they are not even refunding the rest of our money. The company is incredibly irresponsible and customer care looks like a joke. Anyway, only polite and caring agent we talked so far was Simon Cooper. Hope this review is useful for other customers. Mind their irresponsible and bad services from the beginning. Hear this from me a 2 years old customer who never even paid a bill late. Still very bad experience and not happy at all.

The phone does not provide approximate wait time or call back option. It is not reasonable to make someone wait an hour on the phone!!     DO NOT USE SHAW…read more Since the Rogers buy-out, they will lie and steal from you. I moved away and asked to cancel my account. They begged and pleaded with me to just suspend the account, for no charge, and pick up where I left off when I had moved again and needed internet services. I must stress they promised me no charges. I agreed. I then noticed they had continued to charge my credit card without my knowledge, eventually maxing it out. They attempted another charge, but could not get the funds from the maxed card, and so proceeded to add a $70 bounce-back surcharge to the bill. I waited for 2.5 HOURS on their customer service line, getting bounced between Shaw and Rogers because nobody knows how the departments work or who does what, with the merger. Eventually a rude woman told me the charges are correct, there was nothing she was going to do about it, and if I wanted to cancel, it was an additional $120. On top of that, I am currently unable to pay the bill, because their sign-in page no longer works on any browser, on either my desktop or my phone. It keeps redirecting me to their support page which has no account recovery options. The account recovery link from the AI bot just sends me back to the sign-in page, where I will just loop endlessly. Good way to siphon another $70 late fee out of me, I guess. Criminal behavior. Shaw used to be really good, I used them for over 10 years. Now that Rogers has taken over, they are a must-avoid. They WILL steal from you.
