Absolutely horrendous, nightmare experience with these people. The absolute worst communication I…read morehave ever experienced with any company, ever. I have received better communication from minimum wage fast food workers. You would think communication might be a priority for something that the client's LIVELIHOOD DEPENDS ON. Horrendous communication aside, surprises and curveballs at every single corner of this process. Do you enjoy waking up each morning wondering if you might owe an estate a surprise $5K (THAT YOU DON'T HAVE BECAUSE YOU ARE FILING FOR BANKRUPTCY)? Do you enjoy casual emails and voicemails indicating that you owe thousands of dollars that you do not have completely out of left field? Oh, but it does not end there my friends. Once you finally grind this painstaking process all the way out to your discharge, your lawyer will drop an absolute bomb on you, months later, indicating that you still owe funds to the estate. No indication of what it's for, no dollar amount. As I write this, I allegedly owe the estate somewhere between $1 and $1 billion that I do not have, MONTHS AFTER MY DISCHARGE, for reasons unknown. Thanks Natalie! And right on cue, absolute crickets from this joke, scam artist company, as I sit here having a full on mental breakdown due to my decision to go with Van Horn Law Group. If you do make the terrible decision to use Van Horn Law Group, just know - when your discharge letter comes in the mail. When you sigh that glorious sigh of relief. When the nightmare is finally over. Just know, the nightmare does not end. Apparently, the nightmare, the nonsense, the disorganization, the surprises, the blow after blow after blow to you financially as you stumble over yourself trying desperately to get back on your feet. As you take 1 step forward and five steps back. This nightmare will haunt you for all of eternity. This is not a knee-jerk review. I have been EXTREMELY patient with VHLG, as I write this 8 months after starting this process with them. I am the most proactive, get it done person, and uploaded all 150+ documents that were requested immediately, and in a highly organized manner. They will lose documents that you upload to their own portal, and fail to submit them for your 341 meeting, and then have the audacity to ask you to re-send them, as they sit right in their own portal, as requested by THEM (I even sent screen-shots of them, right where they should be). I was very fortunate the the document they failed to submit to the court was only a 2-year old tax return, and the court allowed this to submit it without delay. If this was something more substantial, it could have delayed my process months, and potentially ruined my life as I was only days away from moving out of state. I got very lucky following Van Horn Law Group's disorganization and complete lack of care. Will you be so lucky? The office will tell you absolutely anything to get you off the phone. "She's in a meeting, but she will call you in an hour." An hour and a half goes by, and I call again. "She's currently reviewing your case, and will call you in a few minutes." This will go on and on all day, until finally "Well, it's past 5:00 now, so she will call you tomorrow." WAS IT AFTER 5 WHEN I CALLED AT NOON, 1, 2, 3, 4, 4:30???? And this is not a single occurrence. In fact, I have not ONCE been called back during the window I was told in my 8 months of dealing with this firm. We are talking about a 40 - 50 time sample size. Paralegals will casually delay extremely important milestones by a MONTH at a time VIA TEXT MESSAGE, because the person working on your case decided to go on vacation. Nothing is anyone's responsibility there. If VHLG makes an error and needs you to re-send something, you'll get the workaround, and told "I don't handle that, you need to send it to X" a dozen times. You'll be told conflicting and opposite information from any two people you talk to. I could honestly write a book, but if you're still reading, I think you get the idea. My decision was based on the positive reviews. I swear to god these are all bots. PLEASE READ THE 1 STAR REVIEWS BEFORE CHOOSING THESE CLOWNS, because my experience is a carbon copy of every 1 star review I am now reading. If you are a masochist, or if your mental health is simply too good, and you would like to bring that down a notch or 10, Van Horn Law Group is your firm! UPDATE: I have since been told that (as I presumed) yet ANOTHER error has been made, and the trustee claimed that they never received a check from my tax return. Again, absolutely horrendous internal communication, as I provided all the proof anyone could ever need that this payment was submitted. It took me 3 minutes to recover 10+ documents proving that not only was the check sent and received, but CASHED the second it was received. Unbelievable. It. Never. Ends.

I am honored to leave a review for attorney, Christian Panagakos and Florida Bankruptcy Advisors…read more Sadly it took 5 years and all of our resources to learn that I have Early Onset Parkinsons Disease which came on 8 years ago at age 44. We had to sell our business and over 8 years everything we owned to find out and then treat it. It's sad commentary on the healthcare system that we found ourselves having to file bankruptcy to get a second chance to grow our assets again before it gets too late before retirement or my disability. This was not a decision we made lightly and we were very hesitant to go through the process. Until we found Christian and Brooke. Christian said, "I got this." We found them when we were just about to sign with another bankruptcy firm and my husband saw Christian in bankruptcy court in action. We switched gears and called him. Christian met us after hours and took his time explaining everything to us. After that meeting it was a lot less scary. The other firm was twice as much in fees and left us on our own to figure out a mound of daunting paperwork that I was procrastinating on. Christian helped us walk through all of it in his office in one early evening. His manner is soothing and he cares very deeply for the welfare of his clients. When he took a phone call from his young son during our first meeting to say he'd be home soon, I knew we had the right guy. He is also a very loving dad and husband and you immediately feel like he is going to help you make everything okay again. Christian prepared us for the process and everything went exactly as he said it would. He was in court right beside us and could not be more professional. I can see there why my husband chose him when he caught him in court this summer. We are on the home stretch now and I asked to leave this review in hopes it will help anyone else contemplating bankruptcy as a solution choose this firm. If you read this I highly recommend Florida Bankruptcy Advisors for ease of contact, thorough case management, compassionate care, overall cost, and peace of mind. You will get all of this and more. Thank you to Christian and his staff for taking care of us and helping us rebuild our future while we are dealing with an illness that does not yet have a cure.

If you're someone who like to nitpick for bad reviews, please do not do this with Loan Lawyers. They are truly best in their class in the work they do. To summarize my situation, I was sued by a very litigious and notoriously scummy creditor for a sizable amount of money. As this was the first time I've ever been sued, I was incredibly nervous and expecting the worst. The thing is, these creditors hope that you stick your head in the sand and do nothing because then they're awarded the default judgement which is the full debt + court costs and fees. Then, with a judgement, they could garnish your wages and go after your money with a vengeance. I opted to fight back and I chose Loan Lawyers as my counsel. I received tons of mailers of lawyers who said they'd settle or mediate my case to get maybe 60% of the debt negotiated down or help me file for bankruptcy, but Loan Lawyers was the only law office I spoke to who said they'd go on the offensive and get my case completely dismissed for a very reasonable fee. They cited the hundreds of other cases where they've achieved this outcome and I decided to bite the bullet and retain them after checking their reviews and being swayed by their confidence in the result. This is one of those times where what was advertised wasn't too good to be true and they delivered on their promise. My case was completely dismissed with prejudice and the debt gone for good. This was my largest personal debt and for a legal fee a 10th of the amount of my debt, I had it completely erased. In that respect, this lawsuit actually turned out to be a blessing and I'm so incredibly grateful for Loan Lawyers in producing this result for me.

Our case was fully resolved in November 2025, and all required payments were made in full. No balance is owed to the firm. Since September 2025, both my husband and I have made repeated written and phone attempts to resolve this billing issue. After the September credit was applied, no further responses were provided regarding the remaining balance, even after continued follow-up. While we have received occasional, brief communication related to our case (while it was still open), all inquiries specifically regarding the refund have gone unanswered. Multiple voicemail messages and emails have been sent over several months without return contact. We have complete billing records, payment confirmations, and communication logs, including documentation of the credit issued and the subsequent double charges that continued after that point. Now, we are pursuing formal options to recover our outstanding funds, including consultation with other counsel, and filing complaints with the appropriate regulatory and consumer protection authorities. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend this firm.
