We used to lDubai and were visiting my parents inlaw in Ottawa where we also used to live before. The quality of the frames and lenses were outstanding. These were the most comfortable progressive lenses and frames I've ever had. The technician at Nuvo customized the frames to fit me like a glove. What is even more amazing is that my frames broke a month ago and I panicked and emailed Nuvo. To my shock they said it is still under warranty. So I shipped it back only to find that there were no replacement with the same colour. The communication was as difficult due to Covid working conditions and the time zone difference. Calls were only recorded not live due to modified working circumstances . The owner Dr. Buettner kindly took it upon herself to find a solution and called around and finally managed to find another shop that had the matching colours. She then fitted the lenses and shipped back to me in Dubai. The story did not have ne here. I received the glasses and they were there tight. No one locally knew the techniques to fit this particular frame. I reluctantly contacted Dr. Buetnner and, bless her heart, she sent me detailed instruction to the technician on how to adjust the frame. Like magic , the technician here knew what to do and adjusted the frame. Thank you Nuvo and Dr. Buettner. I lived in Ottawa for over 30 years before we moved to Dubai and had several Optometrists in Ottawa during that time. I've never had such a great experience.

It was so annoying I couldn't wear them and I returned the glasses. The owner claimed he sent them to the lab and they changed the lenses. However I saw no difference, still massive glare. I went back to the store for the 3rd time and asked staff to remove the lenses from the frame and will have the lenses replaced by Hakim Optical.

This is a huge insult! In response to JM's comment. No, this is true as I was actually refused entry and my appointment cancelled due to my mobility issues. A portable, easy to lay down and lift up ramp would solve the issue. However, I was informed that this won't help as the office has changed inside so that I can't wheel about in there even if I did gain entry. There is no space, this is what I was told. JM, in response to your need for a larger space to serve everyone: And yet last year I was able to fit in the waiting area and get an exam. I don't think that your space has suddenly become smaller. And in regard to your landlord not supplying a portable, light weight, easy to carry and place on the step out front to make your store accessible: This isn't something that the landlord would need to install as it doesn't get installed and would work like moving a chair from one side of the room to another. There is no point in my continuing comments to these excuses that you are making as the bottom line is: My appointment was cancelled this year by your office due to my need for that portable ramp. I don't expect you to truly understand how bad this feels for me. After finding an optometrist last year, I now must start over due to something as simple and easy as a portable ramp.

I was never greeted with a "hello." She was always short with me. (I am the client after all... It's not my "job" to give HER customer service.) I also tried calling after my visit to inquire about different prices available to me and the receptionist said "What do you want me to do? The doctor isn't here." Now, I am a new client to the firm, but a long time professional in the customer service industry. It's not the client's job to tell you what should be done. Suggestions such as "The doctor unfortunately isn't in today. Shall I have her call you?" Spoken preferably in a non-rude tone would also help. All and all ... I simply cannot give positive feedback simply because of the service. She's at the front line. I expect more. (I'm not talking taking my coat and being my butler either... haha. I think I was more than fair with her. Actually, she was nice at one point... only when her boss was standing next to her though.) Can't say I'll visit there again. When it comes to Optometrists... I really want my full $140 visit's worth. And there are simply so many choices in Ottawa... why bother with the ones that leave me cringing?
