The restaurant looked nice both inside and out but the sun was shining so we opted to dine outside. My friend suggested I try the Susländer Sauere Rippchen (short rips in a delicious gravy with some fried onions, side of green beans and perfectly cooked pan-fried potatoes with particularly tasty pieces of bacon). Wonderful! The fall-off-the-bone ribs had a wonderful crust and melt-in-your-mouth pork fat. Everything else was of equal quality. My friend had matjes which she enjoyed and we split a nice piece of cheese cake. Generous portions and very friendly service rounded off a wonderful visit to this restaurant in the sleepy town of Glückstadt. Worth the trip for this meal alone.

Doch anstatt Viehwirtschaft zu betreiben, wurden die Gebäude über vier Jahre hinweg mit viel Leidenschaft zu dem umgebaut, was hier heute steht. Das Restaurant mit angegliederter Zimmervermietung wurde im Juni 1999 eröffnet und ist seitdem beliebtes Ziel für Fahrrad- und Motorradfahrer oder als Saal für Familienfeiern.
