I obliged. I paid rent up to when we agreed. He kept my entire double month's rent security deposit (which I now know is illegal to even request -⁠SDCL 43-32-6.1, ) charging me every time he went to look or show the house, an oven rack that was never there, and a month of rent that he already had a new tenant paying rent for and on a lease at the same property. He has been an absolute nightmare and I have filed a consumer protection complaint, small claims court, and any avenue I can to spread the word on this absolute scandalous and criminal behavior.
