Booked SAS Go with checked baggage and I was able to self-tag my suitcase at the airport. Boarding started 30 minutes prior to boarding on the A319. Boarding was ordering via the automated gate, which ensured that passengers were boarding with their assigned boarding group. Flight took off a few minutes early and also landed early. Captain provided a good amount of announcements prior to departure and upon landing. Cabin crew did a manual safety demonstration before departure, did a beverage service, along with a rubbish service prior to landing. Wifi was available on board.

Also the food is average but just thankful they give you food because the price you pay you can't even get groceries. Overall I would recommend Finnair, if you are on a budget

Make sure before you travel within the nordic countries to buy an adapter, because even though there are a ton of charging stations at this airport, they aren't USBC, so after a long day of travel you'd be out of luck unless you have one. This Helsinki airport was fairly small but had quite a few wonderful shops like Moomin and Christmas stores and TSA was an absolute breeze with no luggage, which was great because we were running a bit behind. All in all, it was a fairly nice airport and we had a great experience with it.

We checked into a hotel at the airport the day before we flew home and wandered over to see if we could find something to eat. They have a food court and it includes a surprisingly good size grocery store. We grabbed some dinner and did a little shopping at the store for some snacks for the room. The airport itself is well laid out. It was easy to find customs and our gate. Another nice thing is their rideshare (Uber) area is marked very well and easy to find.

The ferry terminal was on what felt liked the edge of Helsinki but was brand new. On the Tallinn side the terminal was a 15 minute walk from the Old Town. The journey takes around two hours each way. On the way out we traveled on STAR and for the return we were on the much newer MegaStar which was probably the best ferry I have ever been on (there isn't much competition). They even had some exclusive Moomin products, which made the wife happy. I would definitely use this service again.

Our private lounge was smallish and crowded and the tables and chairs were arranged in groups just as in a restaurant. I had expected a comfortable lounge chair- maybe like a business class airline seat but these chairs were like cafeteria chairs. There were some complimentary snacks but pretty ordinary: crackers, tea and coffee, veggies with a dip for more healthful fare. That was about it. None of it tempted me for a second. As for the prospect of sitting in the cafeteria-style chairs for two hours, I eventually abandoned this lounge and found a more comfortable location in another part of the ship. Skip Comfort Class is my advice.

I didn't use travel agency for private travel for over a decade, as I do all my flights online…read more But, this agency came recommended by fellow traveller and at first glance on their page, prices looked really good. Unfortunately, I made a decision to go ahead and try to book flights with them. I don't even know where to start from - sloppy service, slow in answering, not too interested in customer. But, that's not the worst. After I paid for the price they quoted in full, they ask me to pay more money. When I refused, they refuse to give me my money back. It took me 5 angry emails and week of sleepless nights to get my money back. They still charged me for 50 euros for that service. I take this as a price for my stupidity and I hope they will spend it to buy Oxford dictionary and look up meaning of service (and refund).

No "free" hot food or alcohol in this class. Not really worth the price point but it was nice to have some quietness. At the basic fare price, you'll sit with the masses, the hoards of tourists are loud & active as the move about & without the best manners. Business lounge 4pm ride - I was really looking forward to this because my comfort experience went so well. The ticket includes hot food & alcohol. The food & dessert was a bit bland. The alcohol was nice after a long day of exploring. I didn't like the large number of people in business & the some of the loud passengers, lacking manners at the buffet. I thought there may be as much people if not less in business class, but people must want warm food after a long day. The ride was smooth with no issues. Service was nice. I liked the duty free shop but prices are comparable to market, so really not worth buying & lugging things around. Do book ahead for an easy experience.

This ferry from Helsinki over to Tallinn, Estonia It was pretty easily on the coolest one we've ever been on! This is not your standard ferry, like you see in Seattle. This is a straight up re-purposed cruise ship with something like eight floors to hang out on! There are a couple concentric areas with play rooms and lots of large benches and tables to spread out on. We hunker down on one of those, and near the playroom, for both the trip there and the trip back. The play room kept the kids busy for the entire two hour ferry ride, and had plenty of room for them to hang out in. There were a numberDifferent places to grab food as well as a number of bars if you felt like 9 AM drinking was in order. There were also spots to head outside And look at the ocean. Overall, this is really as good as a ferry can get this coming from somebody who is ridden the Seattle ferries for a long time! In addition, Estonia was absolutely awesome and it's a place you should definitely see if you have a chance. Overall, this is the way to travel by sea out of Helsinki
