I recently purchased a portfolio. The overall quality is nice, however, I did not like my design at all. It would help to have a 3d model or even 2d digitally to see what the product would look like. It is kind of hard just to visualize something flat. As well as the price is not worth it, and you can not get a refund if you do not like the product. Update: When I was finally able to pick up my portfolio I was disappointed to discover that there were no prints which I had ordered and (again) already paid for. I had to bring this to the attention of the company and I can only assume that if I had not mentioned it first that they would have simply kept my money and not said anything. I re-sent them my PDF, they came back with a correction that was needed, and then about a week later decided to refund my money for the prints completely and not print them at all. The portfolio itself is very nice, however a beautiful product does not make up for a business with poor customer service, promises to call back or e-mail (and never follow through), and barely any communication. I sincerely hope that my experience is the exception and not the norm to how they do business with all their customers. read more

From the get go I have been trying to speak with someone about my custom printed portfolio. I sent an email waiting 24hrs for a response and then called and sent another because I figured either someone would check the voicemail and call me back or shoot me an email. So the email sent from the site went to the companies junk folder. Finally when I got ahold of someone I sent my entire pdf of my portfolio over for review and asked what the best solution for the cover would be. They gave me what they thought would look best with the materials they use for the cover, and also made inquires about prints and sizes. So that is what I plugged into the site. They informed me that they would need a 'single pdf' file for printing with 1.8 inch bleed and crops. I proceeded to check out and the website went crazy, told me there were errors when being redirected from pay-pal to their site. 8 days later after re-uploading and resubmitting files because they had not been received, they told me they would need single pdf files for the cover and a 'single multi-page' pdf for the printed pages. That would have been useful information to have from the get go. I then reformatted the files. I then resubmit my files that I had uploaded to their current site, to another site called wettransfer. After uploading them the original files that I had sent were never downloaded, wettransfer sent me an email about it after a few days. After re-uploading the files to multiple formats I then had to (see below) contact the person that I had been speaking with if they had received the files. Then they told me after helping me chose the materials for my cover that it wasn't going to work and that I needed to pay an additional fee to use different materials. By this time I really wanted to speak with someone directly because I wasn't understanding process, had more questions and needed more information. So I requested a personal phone call before making any decisions about extra charges. So I am not sure if the overall multi-page pdf file that I sent over was just taken with a glance but if it's custom it's custom. I probably wanted something that not a whole lot of people order. I ended up calling during my morning hours and left a message so they could call me first thing. My day ended up being busier than expected and had a few hours in-between appointments that I could address this issue. Paying someone to handle the call volumes you might be getting with custom printing would be useful. They told me that the machines are loud and can't always hear the phones or get to their emails. When finally speaking with someone about my portfolio and feeling frustrated about my overall experience, and finding these yelp reviews, I got a bit nervous like you do in dealing with any company for the first time, when they finally called me back. She wanted no part in understand the experience that I had and her immediate response was to refund me and find someone else. Tarlan, The fact that you called me after I had sent an email explaining that I hadn't received an email from pay-pal for the refund, so that you could yell and scream and get whatever business issues you have off your chest at me, definitely states poor business practice. Again I think it would be useful for your company to have a person that handles customer service issues. It's an over-exaggeration on the amount of times I called, but you would think that someone might be willing to return your phone call about an order. You had already made a decision to not listen as soon as your returned my call, and did not want to hear a word I was trying to say. A little reassurance would have been nice, maybe we got off on the wrong foot, how's your day been, all things that could have helped. Or even an email saying what time works best for you to discuss this. I feel that anyone in my experience would be skeptical especially when I am trying to pay decent money for a living document, when the company doesn't seem to care that the customer also has things going on in their life and are busy with things. I'm wondering why there was even the need for a phone call when all you did was blow off steam? In order for a company to be functional to customers 's there needs to be a call back within a reasonable time frame that way if the customers have questions about their orders, it pushes the progression of those orders to completion, making the customer feel more completed. The fact my questions weren't being answered via email I explained twice to you that I would like a phone call. If you would have been willing to listen to my concerns instead of speaking over me, screaming at me and deflecting the situation about my portfolio, we could have come to an agreement with proper communication on what exactly my envision was. If that would have happen, I would have been willing to write a different review and had a different perspective. read more

I got the snow white with color engraving I designed my logo myself which was a challenge since I never done one before. I would have rated them 5 stars but due to the lack of information and instruction on their website and for someone designing everything themselves can be challenging and stressful. I am a photography student and one of our requirements for graduation is to have a portfolio created to show our work. After researching different places I decided to go with Klo. I created my design and placed my order. I was nervous bc I placed my order later than I had planned. I spoke with Someone named Tarlan and told her my concerns about the time frame and she assured me that my portfolio would come on time. After my payment, a couple of days later I was emailed a copy of my proof. I told her my likes and dislikes and they fixed it that same day and sent a second proof. WORST EXPERIENCE. I would NOT recommend. I ordered 7 weeks prior to my senior portfolio show. I told them several times the date of the show and they told me it would make it prior. DAYS after the show was held they called me and just started printing. When I told them I did not want it any longer since I couldnt participate in my university show I worked four years for they told me it wasn't the only time I'd use the portfolio. Extremely unprofessional to not even apologize, but tell me I'll use it for jobs. When I won't be because I already have a full time job. Rude, unprofessional, go somewhere else. read more

I'd like to start off by stating, I have no idea how this company is still in business based on their customer service and the fact that they ship you an item, not how you ordered it, and then refuse to make the situation right. I wish I would have seen the other one star reviews about this business before ordering from them because everything stated in those reviews is absolutely true. When I ordered my portfolio I stated exactly the date that I needed it by and paid an extra $40 on top to insure that it arrived when he needed to. After going back and forth we agreed on the design and everything, which was supposed to be my logo cutout of a white cover with a black engraved circle around the cut out as well as a black page behind the cut out so that the logo looked black. After I was charged for the portfolio and it was being produced I received an email stating that I would receive it on May 2. From the get-go of the process I had stated very clearly that I needed it by April 28, which is the whole reason I paid an extra $40. I then called to talk to someone in customer service about making sure that I received it when I needed it, and I was talked to more disrespectfully than I have ever been spoken to by a business. I finally got the issue resolved so that I would receive the portfolio on the 28th. I was told it would be shipped out the next day to guarantee arrival on the 28th. I recieved my tracking and I went to track my package and it showed the final delivery destination as North Carolina.. Hmm.. That's odd considering I'm in Utah. So then after a few other calls to the company I got the correct shipping info. I tracked it and saw that it had been delivered to my house. I was so excited to see my finished portfolio. I get home and open the box and what's this? The cover isn't how we discussed as well as my 10 prints look as if a CHILD printed them from a cellphone. By this point I'm livid, I'm supposed to have my portfolio to show the next day, and it shows up looking like shit. I call their office and the girl I spoke to before answered, I asked for a manager or someone who could fix this issue and she told me she would have the owner call me back. Now you'd think the owner of a company would want all their customers to be happy and to speak highly of their business. Tarlan, the owner of Klo called me. I explained how disappointed I was with the product and I informed him how crappy the quality of the prints were. Now you'd think he'd have no problem reprinting the prints which were only $23 of the $300 damn dollars I spent on this portfolio!! He absolutely refused to do something about the prints as well as my cover that they made wrong. He talked more disrespectfully to me than anyone else at the company that I communicated to. THIS IS THE OWNER, wouldn't you think that he would want me to be happy with his product and to spread the word to others. He basically stated that everything was my fault and said that "if I were a true artist that nothing would have gone wrong". At this point I hung up and filed a claim with Amex, I'll let American Express deal with that ass. I then had to go to my local photo shop, quickly buy paper, and go to my schools photo lab and spend the next hour and half printing the images myself since a "custom portfolio" company can't get that right. Long story short I would recommend everyone stay away and take your business else where. I basically payed $300 for a plastic cover designed incorrectly and some prints I might as well burn. Anyone considering ordering from Klo I would highly recommend you take your business elsewhere, where your business is valued, and where you aren't taken for your money. IN RESPONSE TO YOUR COMMENT BELOW. I followed the exact instructions that "Emily" gave me. She told me to put all of my files in the PDF file that I did. I INFORMED HER that I didn't think that that was going to work and she assured me that no quality would be lost. Also what is the point of even conversing with what you call a designer if it's all about clicking approve on the "proof". You're people couldn't even translate the information discussed to the proof. Also I find it extremely comical that you keep bringing up the fact that I was in Coachella. I was fired to go out there and be one of the event photographers and I made sure everything that needed to be discussed before I left was. The fact that you wanted to leave me high and dry and not better the situation at all is exactly why no one should do business through you.
