The appointments are quick - in and out, but still he covers everything. I didn't need to be diagnosed, I had been diagnosed years ago, so my initial appointment was different. I just needed to get back on my medication and I knew what dosage I needed to be on. Saw him monthly for like 2-3 months and once we confirmed the dosage was perfect and didn't need to be adjusted, the appointments are every six months. He still does my monthly refills and i don't have to go in person!! I freaking love it. If you're looking for therapy, then go see a psychologist if you want to talk over issues or get advice. But if you need to be medicated, Dr. Putnam is your man lol Oh yes, the front desk receptionist is not warm and fuzzy but who cares. Most doctors office always have rude staff. Welcome to DC. I have known Dr. Alaoglu for roughly 23 years. She was my doctor and therapist when I was a…read moreteenager and also for the last 14 years or so since around 2002. Prior to that time, I spent a while trying to find the right doctor who was also a psychotherapist. I was not able to find anyone as capable as her during that time and am very happy that I chose Dr. Alaoglu. She is a very good and well-informed judge when it comes to choosing medications and dosages and is always there for me when I need help. She is a great listener, and is able to give me great advice when I see her for therapy. Dr. Alaoglu helped me through some very difficult times of my life. She was witness to a very positive transformation that happened to me for the last 14 years of my life, and was a friend as well as a cheerleader during that period. Through her therapy and finding the right medication for me, I went from being very unstable in work and personal and family life to a point where I felt very together, able to be successful in my work, form better relationships; I even got married in 2015. All of this seemed inconceivable to me earlier in life. I have had a number of therapists and doctors during my life and have not encountered one as talented as Dr. Alaoglu. I would without any doubt or hesitation be able to recommend her to someone else for therapy, administration of medication, or both.
