Local restaurant tucked away in a wall only space amongst residential houses. It is a converted church from what I was told. The meat menu is humorously in a cow skin frame. Service was ok but food was delicious. I was here for a company dinner and heard that our company frequents here so I expected top level service. Food does. Take a while to come out but I appreciate that. Portions are super generous. Menu is limited for choices overall for example only one or two fish choices and one prawn choice. The hollandaise has Ana amazing consistency To go with the spargel. This is a local must and worth the walk. read more

Sie liegt direkt nördlich der Raststätte Remscheid an der Bundesautobahn 1. Die Mebusmühle erscheint urkundlich unter diesem Namen erstmals in der Wermelskirchener Kirchenrechnung im Jahre 1528. Als Besitzer war damals ein Herr Up der Mylen Mevus eingetragen. Man kann vermuten, dass die Mebusmühle oder eine andere dortige Mühle noch älter ist. 1621 war die Mebusmühle zuerst eine Getreide- dann eine Walkmühle, in der damaligen Ausdrucksweise nannte man sie Mevesmülle. Im Jahr 1899 übernahm der Wirtschaftsverwalter Jäger aus Wermelskirchen, der gleichzeitig Pächter der Talsperrengaststätte war, die Mebusmühle. Das Restaurant "In der Mebusmühle" hat 2009 einen neuen Besitzer, der in der Gastronomieszene der Stadt Remscheid kein unbekannter war. Der Gastronom Mario Romanowski übernahm den Besitz am 11.Mai 2009 der Mebusmühle und setzt die Tradition nun fort.

Wir waren letzte Woche in der Klosterschänke und ich muss sagen dass es mir sehr gut geschmeckt hat. Die Preise sind etwas höher als anderswo aber dafür erhält man ja auch eine gehobene Qualität dafür und dann geht das ok. Die Wartezeit könnte stellenweise etwas kürzer sein. Die Atmosphäre und das Gesamtpaket ist allerdings stimmig und gut. read more
