I understand the weather is very, very important due to tornadoes. Hail etc. But why do y'all have to go into the 530 news? It only come on one time. It only 30 minutes and y'all take up the whole broadcast. You constantly do this, you can never watch the world news. I love to watch the world news. I understand the weather is important, but we wanna watch the world news. Also, that's very important. We don't get to see it when you take up. The whole broadcast all the time with the news and the weather. So I've been watching y'all for 1520 years. Can we please somehow get to watch the 530 world? It saddened me that a good station like Kmbc reports the weather in other areas and but not others. It's August 27th and they a weather alert for Johnson County ks and Cass County. We'll, there's lightening, thunder, rain, and some wind here in wynadott County!!! Please get it right!! Fortunately, I will continue to watch KMBC. read more

I agree with all of these commenters. This channel seem to predominately concentrate on sports. Laura Moritz told a lie several months ago, about Gladstone Apartments on North Paseo, had a problem with utility or other problems. She lives in the Northland, and knows there is no North Paseo in this area. Those apartments are on North Prospect. I called channel 9 and complained, about her bumbling, fumbling and stumbling lie. She nor them, never apologized or recanted. To me, this is demonic, evil, wicked and wretched journalism!! read more

KMBC provides a weak signal to antenna viewers in the area and has ongoing transmitter problems. TV viewers are not able to watch ABC programming a lot of the time with such poor service. read more

This isn't about their news, which I sometimes have on television, after Oprah. This is about their email and or phone alerts. Bryan Busby keeps on talking about receiving a phone call before bad weather hits. But when he says "Go to the website, it's there." Where? I found the mobile alerts, and I signed up for it. Not the best service. I have a mytouch 3g, which I love. It has internet access most areas. I signed up for the text alert, and thought it would be just that. A simple text alert, such as, "Tornado is on it's way in Jackson County," or, "90 degrees outside, it's a scorcher." That's not the text you receive. The sent text is just a link to the kmbc.com website. I signed up for both breaking news alerts, and weather alerts. Big mistake. When you click on the phone browser, you are taken to the website, that has the temperature on the opening page. If you want the breaking news, you really have to look for it. I was hoping for a service, such as the CNN alerts, that I get, that explain in text, what is happening, right now. It doesn't take you to a website, or use a browser. That is how I found out the Micheal Jackson had a heart attack. It's how I found out alot of news happening. The KMBC news says the mobile alerts are text alerts. But yet, it is not a text alert. It might be cause I have an Android style phone, it automatically enables a browser. But it's not that simple. I get 5-6 alerts per hour, all taking me to the website. The alert, then, isn't visible, so what do they want me to know? What are they telling me? I stopped the free service. Cause it's not of use. I'll continue to be informed with CNN text alerts. KMBC's local alerts have some work to be done. read more

They have channel 29 to repeat the same old news events over and over again. Yet they still feel the need to disrupt channel 9 with the same crap they are broadcasting on 29. What is the purpose of this? read more

They censor comments on Facebook. I asked one counter question to what they were broadcasting, and they banned me from commenting.

I am very unhappy that KMBC TV9 is no longer on Time Warner Cable! I heard that TV9 wants to raise it's rates by 250%. and that is not fair. I do want to see this channel represented on TWC but not at this price. I think the Channel 9 team should be fair with viewers who are the one who pay the price. Maybe Channel 4 or 5 will be just as good!!! I hope this is resolved soon!! read more
