This is the quintessential shopping center of the textile hub of Sweden. This place has some history and skeletons in the closets.
Back in the day, Ellos, the catalogue giant of the 80s had its flagship store here. People from all over the country would make a pilgrimage at least once a year and there was always crazy amount of people. People who lived in Borås got to model for the catalogs (my bestie!!!) It was a whole mood.
With time, even this place started evolving and moving forward. New shopping galleries were built and new vendors arrived. Ellos was no more...
You can now find over 100 stores, restaurants, cafes, and never enough parking. Some stores are good, some should not exist. Inside the shopping galleries tends to be really nice. Some of the outside reminds me of cheap 1960s brick buildings with awful, oversized neon signs and gigantic vinyl posters. It's not tasteful. Oh well. read more
