But there were several things wrong that I'm just not used to. First, they massage over the blanket. Normally, the massage is skin to skin. Second, I wasn't asked to turn. Not once. I was on my belly the whole time. Third, the music was so low that I could hear my own breathing and the massage therapist's breathing; the room has a weird light to it, making the light yellowish and feels more like an old house. Lastly, I normally don't care about gender but why assign my husband a male? I think they should ask for preference like other places. All in all, they were quick to get us out to pay. They didn't offer any water or tea afterwards and before paying, we were asked if we wanted to schedule for a future date. Just feels like the opposite of what the experience usually is. I had been up all night with a stiff neck and shoulders, and booked this place for a massage the next day. I was excited to find something last minute, and my wife had been before and had a good experience, so I was optimistic. The check in process was smooth-fill out a brief form then was taken back to a quiet room to prepare for the massage. The lighting was low and there was nice music playing-everything looked to be pretty good. My massage therapist reviewed my chart and I explained where I'd like her to focus. Typically, a massage will start out slow and relaxing, then build up to working tough areas. In this case, her movements were fast, abrupt and overly repetitive in the same area. It became comical how she was passing over the same spot so many times-I began to count to distract myself. She got up to 41 passes along the same concentrated area of my back (not even where I had asked her to focus) before she moved somewhere else. It was kind of like when my well-meaning 17 year old gives me a foot rub and stays in the same spot the whole time while daydreaming off in the distance. Today I have bruises in those spots where she went too hard for too long. (And again, barely touched my neck or shoulders.) Obviously, other people have had great experiences here-so maybe I had an "off" night or perhaps my expectations were misaligned. But since I've had wonderful massages elsewhere, I'll just schedule those places instead.

I have seen Annie and Judy there before and they were great, but for some reason on one of my visits they assigned me to a person that couldn't understand anything I said. I haven't returned to this location since that time. I am very disappointed in this place. I have asked if I can pick my therapist and they won't give me a straight answer to that question. I would be a regular customer here if they had high standards, but it is clear in my case that they do not. During my last visit the therapist had to speak with me with the phone translator and used too much pressure even when I told her not to. That is disappointing and also dangerous from a health standpoint. The point of a massage is to relax not risk injury because of poor communication.

When the phone rang or another customer walked in, she would leave to answer without saying anything. She also stepped out for a few minutes to discuss something with her coworker. There were probably 5-6 separate incidents so it completely disrupted the flow, yet the massage still finished on the hour. I paid in cash to avoid the credit card charge, but it was awkward. I had to ask for change back and instead of just giving me the correct amount, she asked how much - as in, what's the tip?

The pressure was spot on, not too light and not overkill, just right. Hot stones were heated perfectly, not too hot and not lukewarm like some places do. Oil felt great on the skin too, nothing greasy or sticky after. I came out of it feeling completely relaxed, and at one point something in my shoulder popped in the best possible way.
