By the time I got there it was empty, as in I was the only person there, and the staff were just sitting around. Cant blame them, there was a snow blizzard outside. From the decor you can tell the place is quite nice. I actually thought it might be awkward because I was alone and it was late. The staff were incredibly nice to me, seating me at the bar area where I could talk to them. They are full on Greek and make some delicious Greek food. The menu is huge and selection is endless. I went with a sampler that included gyros and some other skewered pork, with rice, salad, fries, the works. It was delicious and I wish I could have eaten it all. They even topped my meal off with a free shot of Ouzo! Overall, what could have been a really awkward experience turned out to be a great opportunity to meet some friendly people. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was nice. Would love to return some time at a decent time when the place is busier.

We only had one night in Leipzig, just passing through. I had read one review for another nearby…read morerestaurant that claimed something like, "if you haven't eaten here, then you haven't been to Leipzig." I asked the lady at the front desk of our hotel if we would be able to get in there without a reservation. She told us no, we didn't want to go there because it was too touristy and overcrowded and loud. Instead, she recommended we go for dinner at Weinstock. I felt a little under-dressed in our traveling clothes (jeans and sneakers). This place is pretty fancy, dressy, linen table cloths and nicely folded linen napkins. The service was top notch - very professional, polished, well trained. The food was exquisite! My oldest son had wienerschnitzel every day during our 8-day trip across Germany and said the best was here. It was so tender he could cut it with his fork. I asked waitress what she recommended and she suggested the sea bass. It was excellent. I also had the garlic soup with scallops and it was heavenly! The food and service here were exceptionally good. I would almost consider making a trip back to Leipzig just to eat here. I try not to give 5-star reviews, but I give Weinstock 5-stars for the best dinner we had in our 8-day trip across Germany.

I ordered fish and chips, overlooked store bought fish and soggy old chips. Rude staff, and very limited Irish menu. But the decor was nice, where you could see it through the clouds of cigarette smoke.
