Outstanding service all around! I called first thing Tuesday morning. There was no answer but I imagine all the lines were busy at that time of day. I figured I'd wait 25 mins and call back. I didnt have to call back because Gloria called me back! Gloria sent Juan out to assess and diagnose the AC unit. Juan showed up and our dog loved him. AC was diagnosed and we were given an estimate for repair. Jaun never suggested a new unit. We have a unit that other hvac companies would rather just replace and put new warranty on it. Repairing is priority with this company. We have a swamp cooler and were able to rely on that until they could get us on their schedule. Jaun came again a few days later. He made the repair but admitted he was not confident enough in the final repair so Dwayne was sent out to complete the repair. Again our dog loved him! Dwayne was just as nice. Both techs are great at socializing. They were kind and courteous. I cant say enough about our experience with this company. read more

Hi, I had Knight Air "service" my AC system (top of line Carrier Infinity 21 SEER AC and 98% efficient natural gas furnace) 5-ton for about 2000 sq-ft single story house in North Phoenix 85050. I purchased the system new in 2012 for about $13K (way too high) but the system has been excellent. Anyway, I am not sure if this is a coincidence, or something worse, but after the ($100) service, the technician told me nothing was wrong with my system. But the very next day the entire system failed (Blower Motor Fault) I went out to run errands, came back the and the house was 96F, with pets. So I called Knight, and they sent a different tech the next day, and they quoted me $2.3K to replace the Blower Motor. My brother is a contractor and called Sigler the Carrier dealer, and the new motor cost is about $850 I found $2.3K cost steep, so I looked around, and was able to find a (used) identical replacement blower motor (ECM unit plus motor) for $350 with a 1- year Warranty. So I replaced it my self in about 20 min (about 4 screws, had to disconnect / reconnect about 10 wires). I went to "Eddie" in the East Valley on Main (Discount AC Outlet 480 898-0810) Anyway at this point I would not recommend Knight for any AC service, install, or repair. AC service is easy to do yourself. 1. change the main filter very often, I do almost every month, especially in the summer in Phoenix. 2. use garden hose to carefully spray the heat exchanger coils of your AC compressor in back yard 3. check the "split" temperature difference between AC set temp and temp blowing from your AC vents (ideally about 22F, mine was 24F) read more

I just got off of the phone with Carissa the owner. This lady decided it would be professional to talk in a condescending fashion to a potential customer. We were discussing the $79 diagnostic fee, and I was telling her that I didn't want to pay $80 to have somebody come out and tell me that all I have to do is turn on the gas line or put gas in it or whatever. I understand if the fireplace legitimately has an issue that needs a technician to repair it, at that point I have no problem paying a diagnostic fee or even repairs, but if it were to be a simple solution that would take 5 minutes, I don't want to have to pay $80 for that. Obviously, I am unfamiliar with gas fireplaces. The one star review isn't about their work, I'm not sure what kind of work they do, but the owner needs to learn how to talk to customers in a respectful manner. I felt like I was being chastised by a parent. Carissa's response to our discussion was, "Well, can YOU figure out what the issue is?" My obvious response was "no", then she says "Riiiiight..."... really lady? Like you have people waiting in line to pay you 80 bucks to go look at their units??? Any kind of owner that treats a potential client like that will never get my business, I'm not sure how you've lasted this long with you answering the phones Carissa, hopefully you have administrative assistant that has more courtesy and respect than you do. I've had Chuck service my units for years. They were cheap builder grade units and he made them perform better than they had in years. When it came time to replace them, I had three reputable companies give me quotes. I brought Chuck in last and without knowing what the others bid, he came in well under their bids. That made it so easy. He put in some great units and had the keys to my house for a few days while they were in and out. He wasn't able to fix the issue (our fault), but he was able to disable the heater which was erroneously turning on with the AC. I went to Rosie on The House's Referral List when I needed a new Air Conditioner and I picked Knight Air Conditioning from the list. I've never been sorry. Chuck has come out whenever I needed something taken care of on the unit and always asks if there is anything else he can do for me. He's offered to lift heavy items up into storage and just generally takes care of anything I need done. To save me some money he advised me to pick up an adjustable thermostat and then one of his guys installed it. They showed me how to set it and make sure it is working properly when they come out to check the system. All of his employees have been courteous and great technicians. After a few questions i was able to answer, she told me right away what was wrong. She was able to send a technician out with the right parts within a few hours. As a (previous) fellow contractor, I would not wish this company on my worse enemy. I typically try to find companies that are "Rosie on the House" certified, as I know those companies are reputable and provide a superior service. I once worked for a "Rosie on the House" certified company. Knight set up a time to be at my home between 9-11 am. Knowing this, I took the morning off work so that I could be present during the inspection. Sometime after 11 am came and went, I received a call from the dispatcher stating that the technician was behind on his schedule and wanted to send him out later in the evening, between 5-7 pm. I get it, things come up that are unexpected that require more time. Later, waiting in my 97 degree home, 7 pm comes and goes once again. Hallelujah, the technician decides to show up at 7:45 pm, right when I'm about to leave for the night. The technician ran a small machine on our outside unit then over quoted me on replacing the entire AC unit. He asked for his money, even though the total time he spent at my home was around 10 minutes, then left. Based on the poor customer service and lackluster inspection, he should have paid me for my time. BUYER BEWARE! On a side note, I received quotes from other companies that were nearly half the price Knight quoted me, the other companies showed up on time, the other companies spent time talking to me about the problems and possible solution, and they provided a better inspection/service. read more

In 2009 we had Knight install a new AC unit on our home. We loved the unit. A few weeks later we noticed a leak in our master bedroom ceiling. Call them and they came out and said that the drain pipe which they ran through our attic was leaking. Apparently the fittings weren't done correctly. Since we had to get the ceiling completely redone, we decided to remodel our master bedroom. Shortly after the remodel was done, it leaked again damaging the ceiling. The owner paid our contractor to fix our ceiling which was very nice of him, but expected since it was their fault. They also told us they would call every year for our annual maintenance which they never did. So we called them to set it up. Until this year. We decided to try another company. Boy, am I glad we did. The drain pipe they had finally routed on the roof was done against gravity so nothing ever drained. The new company told us it appeared the inner coil hadn't ever been cleaned out. We even went on the roof to see what he was talking about. Shameful. Also, the duct elbow was only installed with tape, no mastic was used to form a good seal.. You can imagine what condition the tape was in after 8 years. Now, maybe cleaning the inner and outer coils is not part of a basic yearly maintenance package. However, shouldn't a good AC company at least inform the owner upon inspection that the coils are very dirty and should be cleaned? Then the homeowner can get a price quote and make their decision. Every year they came, we were told that everything is fine, in good working order. All I can say is why did all of this happen? read more
