I was so impressed with how responsive they were and I appreciated how absolutely lovely the associate was! Beautiful selection of nice yarns including several brands I've heard of but not yet tried, (Julie Asslain, Socks Yeah, and Hedgehog) and several favorites, (Malabrigo, Brooklyn Tweed, Opal, and Blue Sky Fibers). I was immediately greeted when I entered and asked if I required help. It was my first time in so I asked to look around. I saw another employee at the back helping people with knitting and suggesting good local lunch locations for people inquiring. Lovely selection of needle cases, lotions, coffee mugs, knitting bowls, and other accessories knitters might enjoy. Large mostly-wool selection though I did see some Quince Kestral for summer season knitters. Definitely worth the stop while traveling from Madison to Green Bay.

Every corner has something that captures my eye or attention. All the events provide coupons, gifts, and ideas to encourage purchasing at reasonable prices. There are little nooks and crannies in which to sit and create beautiful things. I like to bring my needles and yarn and just sit in the gathering area crocheting while people come and go. The constant movement, chatter, and energy of people around me while my service dog sleeps near my feet feels like a little retreat. It calms my spirit to get in this shop! The shop has events, classes, workshops, and is an amazing community of talented textile artisans eager to share their skills and knowledge. I am always drawn into fabric stores while on a quest to secure fabric for my supremely artistic twin sister. I am not a quilter/crafter/sewer by any means. My twin sister has not met a fabric store she hasn't fallen in love with. So, for her, I went to the shop with no intention of purchasing material. I sent her photos of material. Next thing you know....one hour later... three large bags of material and $200 later, I escaped. Needless to say, my twin was pleased. Her particular favorites included the fabric with sewing cats and the Wisconsin-outdoor-printed fabrics. The Sewing Basket seems to be a community favorite- a gathering spot and a place that offers classes. The owner was very friendly and accommodating.
