Beware of delivery. We ordered Saturday and it was terrible. Most of the food arrived stone cold. The cheesecake was missing. One sandwich was hot so that makes me think it was not the delivery company's fault. I think the calamari and sliders sat out waiting for the pastrami to come out. The missing cheesecake - sloppy. It was a Friday night and wanted to check out a new spot. Driving around we found Weiland and decided to stop by and grab a bite to eat. Restaurant was pretty busy but we were able to get seated quickly. Menu is simple and offers a wide range of items. We settled on a custom burger, sliders, Chile Verde Mac and Cheese (WOW) and Filet Mignon. The chile verde Mac and cheese was amazing it has a bit of a kick but trust me when I tell you you'll be licking the plate. I unfortunately didn't try the sliders but was told they were flavorful and worth ordering. The custom burger was probably one of the best burgers I've had. You can't go wrong ordering this beast! Lastly, the filet ordered cooked Medium plus came out just right. Very moist and tender, great flavor and please don't disrespect the steak by using dipping sauce none needed. The veggies that come with the steak are a must, trust me when I say they didn't last long on my plate nor did I offer anyone in my party some. To end our first but not only visit the executive chef came around and asked us what we thought of the food. Don't know why most restaurant chefs don't do this, it's vital to get feedback from customers. The chef was a true pleasure to speak with; we picked his brain a bit and he made our night that much more of a positive experience. I used to be a neighborhood regular when I lived closer. They have a great Happy Hour Menu that has the HH pricing all day on Sunday's and Monday's. This was my first time here since COVID. We sat outside on the makeshift seating area that was added to part of the parking on the side off of Atlantic. There were barricades set up with a tent up to be protected from the overhead elements. Menu: They had the QR codes available for both the Happy Hour menu and the regular menu. They also had the physical menus available if we were interested. Food: Fortunately, it was just as I remembered. I was a little concerned after reading some of the reviews, but everything was still the same. We had the poke, Korean steak tacos and multiple orders of the garlic fries and calamari. Though I will mention that the poke was lacking a little more than usual. Drinks: I had my michelada which is my go to drink even though it's not on the happy hour menu. I appreciate the bartender that took care of us this evening because he gave me the rest of the pour. I will say not all of the bartenders do that. Service: It was the bartender serving us and everyone on our side of the street which came to at least 5 tables at one time. We were a table of 3, and I observed at least 2 of the other tables were parties of 5. He was definitely running back and forth which is why we gave him a little more grace. He also always had a mask properly on. Entertainment: They had the Monday Night Football on a TV outside. I don't watch football, but I'm sure someone will appreciate seeing this. Really nice experience here. It's so awesome to finally be able to go out and support local restaurants. Knolls has a great patio with outdoor seating so totally quarantine friendly, of course. Note: my rating is purely based on tonight's experience. Tonight we dined at Knolls. Our first cautiously planned dining experience post covid-19, in now 3 months. I also preface this review by saying that we've been to Knolls countless times, pre pandemic, and have always had nothing but positive things to share (food, service, etc). We were super excited for the re-opening and ability to dine-in, but expected many changes in the overall experience. Sadly however, the owner has chosen not to abide by any of the new health regulations - specifically his staff not wearing any face coverings or gloves, nor were tables any more separated than they were previously. In other words, the setup looked exactly like it did prior to shutdown with the exception of 2 booths having a partition wall between them. We opted to sit outside as planned from the beginning, as we felt more comfortable with being in the open air. Perhaps it was due to us being the only occupied table outside, but the level of attention wasn't there as it probably would've been had we asked to be seated inside. That said, less interaction with the non-masked staff was probably better. After it started taking a really long time for our food to come out, we asked what was going on - why was it taking longer than normal and, more importantly, why was none of the staff wearing face coverings and only 1 visible person wearing gloves. We were informed that it was not a decision they had made individually and that the owner instructed his staff to not wear masks. He wouldn't allow it. Wow. While we were finishing up, the owner left and as we were leaving one of the staff was distributing Knolls-branded masks to his colleagues. We saw that the staff did indeed want to abide by health guidelines to protect their customers, as well as themselves, but couldn't do so in front of their owner. With all this said, I fully understand that we had the option to leave or not even walk in to begin with. It crossed our minds many times. We all want to support our businesses to keep the neighborhood we love thriving, but it's completely unacceptable to force your staff and customers to feel awkward by not following even the bare minimum regulations. You've been given the opportunity to fully re-open your business and to not do it with respect to your staff and customers who've so loyally supported you, is beyond me. Bottom line, the staff is great, and we have loved and supported Knolls continuously through owner transition for 6+ years. Will we go back? Likely, one day. Anytime soon? No chance. Most people aren't in a rush to get back out, but when they do, they may prefer to do it with the many other options this amazing neighborhood has to offer. read more

Disappointed in service and food. We ordered delivery to be ready at 6:00pm. At 5:30pm we received an email saying the food would be ready at 6:20. Ok 20 min late, no big deal. Pick up the food and they missed one meal and a side dish. We wait for that to be prepared, while the rest of our food gets cold. They bring out the last meal and still miss the side. Finally get the side dish and head home. At home we realize they gave us two of the same sandwiches which is not what we ordered. One was supposed to be grilled cheese and one chicken. Both were grilled cheese. Needless to say, food wasn't great since most of it sat in the car while they finished preparing our order and we were disappointed to not have gotten what we ordered. Dropped in during first Friday. The place had TVs in the bar area that we could see from the dining area which was nice since the Dodger game was on. Ordered the pastrami sandwhich and rib sandwhich, Friday was rib night so the places smelled of ribs and I couldn't resist. The pastrami sandwich was really tasty. Flavors really hit the spot and i really wished I had ordered it. The rib sandwhich was really good as well. The meat melted in your mouth and was so tasty and soft. I would have liked some onion sauce to make it more tangy. The flavors were sort of basic. Service was great, a gentleman kept coming by to check up on everyone, I'm assuming the owner, which was a nice touch. I've been coming here for 2 years we always have huge parties and order online or actually shut down our office to have lunch here. Today was unacceptable! I had an order of OVER $600 that I made in the morning for pick up at 11:15 AM. When I picked up the food the manager who greeted me said "here is your order however for future references when placing a $600 order please do not order last minute as it makes it very hard". I was SHOCKED at her response to a HUGE order that will PROFIT their business. I will never go back to the restaurant. Cucumbers and tomatoes that came with my tasteless hummus were room temperature. Gross!!! That coincides with the wilty salad I got 2.5 years ago during old management. Maybe things haven't changed at all. Best part of my meal was the pita bread that came with it. Which was probably store bought... Anyways. The people are nice. The space is actually nice and there are enough TVs to enjoy a game. So if you're here for beer and good company, you'll be in good hands. Poke on iceberg lettuce.? Please no.. mixed greens is best! We ordered garlic fries and there was no garlic.. server said it's at the bottom of bowl..? What? Hummus plate was not fresh. Tomatoes were too soft/squishy and bread was greasy? Ceviche was dry.. now let's get to the drinks.. We know not to order anything fancy.. margaritas and bloody Mary's.. are not good! So we stick to the basic beer and wine and an occasional cape cod.. and still they forget the lime every time? Parking is on the side of the building , i have never had a problem finding any.keep in mind it is metered. Walked in and immediately loved the ambience. The decor suits the place. I've sat at the bar the last couple of times. Haven't had the pleasure to try there food but i must say i love there old-fashioned. Will be going back many many more times. read more

This place has amazing service in a very friendly and incredible staff. My hostess was extremely sweet and accommodating as I desired to move tables since the restaurant today was extremely noisy. Ricardo was an great waiter and he listened attentive for was i craving and he honed in on a good choice for dinner My favorite part of the meal was the Caesar salad but is not what I came here to eat I came here for the braised short ribs. The portion size was huge and it comes with two sides. Unfortunately a large chunk of the braised short rib was slightly on the dry side and bland. I still wanted to give this place a great review because I have never seen this much amazing service from the hostess, to waiter, to manager. Thanks again team. Poor nachos, not the ones I wanted or were on yelp, sadly made with not much cheese or anything.

The service was great even with it being understaffed. They were all working so hard not their fault at all. The food was mediocre at best. My group had the Buffalo Wings (bland), Lobster Mac (pretty good), Redneck fries (meh) and the Korean street tacos (horrible). I cannot recommend eating here as the food overall is not pleasant. We normally visit this neighborhood restaurant and enjoy the food and drinks. Well, the only reason I gave them 3 stars was because of good service!! Our Friday visit definitely wasn't what we were used to. First, the Cadillac margaritas were not the best, nor was the food. I asked the server if they had a new bartender, and the answer was yes!!! I didn't ask about the chef/cooks. But as we were leaving, we saw 2 cooks in the back puffing and passing something and it sure wasn't cigarettes. Now I know why the food was lacking...go figure!!!!
