Barre class is about small moves that target specific muscles and the result is a great total body workout. Barre is yoga + pilates + ballet. These are combined with yoga straps, exercise balls, resistance bands, and weights. There is a lot of repetition with each movement, especially small movements to work the whole body. Some people wear sticky socks, but I never did. Be sure to bring your water bottle and a clear mind before class. I heard it takes about 8-10 classes before you really settle in. Pros - Only charges a late fee in the event of a late cancel for a wait-listed class (some places will charge regardless of the class size) - Yoga classes are once a week, which is purely yen yoga (but I wouldn't attend this yoga class again) - Nice and easy app to enroll into classes. You can attend any of the 3 Knoxville locations via the app. - Hones your stamina and posture - You will feel the soreness from head to toe after the first class Cons - Never answers phone calls but slow to reply via emails (all 3 locations have the exact contact us). I had to drive to one of the 3 locations in Knoxville to start a class. So I knocked a star off from 4 stars. If you are new, I definitely recommend attending Stephanie's class. Out of the 3 different instructors I experienced, Stephanie really caters to the class and attendees. My first class with Stephanie, I overheard her explaining some of the movements for a good 5 minutes prior to class to another new member. She then came to the front to check me in and knew immediately that I never took a class with her.

Some rooms, don't have equipment and looks like they planning to close. They should demolish this building and build a new one. I was told that the TV screen will be fixed soon & it has not been in 4 months. It is 0.3 miles from home & that part is good. If I did not need Elliptic machine I would have not signed up. The manager said they don't accept free vouchers for disabled persons. Have not done any classes due to minimal choices of classes. The yoga room looks dirty and old. No place for a wall, needed for certain type of exercise. Have not tried aerobic classes. They are closed Saturday and Sunday; which is bad for working people. The manager is rude and i had to pay extra to sign up. There are so many stairs, and turns, up and down and the carpet looks like crap. I will be looking for something better. The only advantage is the distance. That is it.

There's enough equipment, including free weights, plate loaded machines, aerobic equipment, bands, medicine balls, etc to get in a great full body workout. The staff is receptive to suggestions for additional items. All items are new, from premium brands and in great working condition. The open gym room is available for member use when there's not a class in session, which are about 3-4 times daily during the week, including XGT cross training and yoga classes. We guess spin classes may resume post pandemic. Rumor has it they will soon expand into the space next door; otherwise it starts to feel busy with more than ten people there, especially if a class is in session. But I've not seen that. And other members have been friendly and space- conscious. And it's VERY CLEAN. All members are required to wipe down all the things after use, towels are provided and the staff is generally cleaning too. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. Thrilled to have this so close!

Basics are practiced at some point during class, but each lesson is different from the last; building the anticipation of 'what will I learn today?' The Art: Practical for everyone. Very effective. Easy to learn, yet difficult to master. Fun!

You bring your own mat and the instructor brings the music and the knowledge to your location. The instructors vary in style and experience levels. Gary, the founder, is absolutely the best of the bunch. His classes are relaxing, with careful corrections and adaptations for people of different skill levels. He incorporates subtle aromatherapy accents that add to the relaxation. Our office has opted for Yin style classes to help us all decompress. His other teachers have also been very good. Try it out. Gary's classes are everything! In an environment where no one, including Gary, takes themselves too seriously, you are able to push yourself at your own level. His classes are challenging in a way that I find lacking in a lot of yoga. He pushes your flexibility, strength, and balance in ways that aren't intimidating. And it's all done in an environment that is friendly and relaxing.
