Fantastic beach for the little ones…read more The beach area felt incredibly clean and safe. The area is by all the nice resorts (like Disney) and golf course so it's a little farther away from Waikiki. To get in, there's a parking entrance. You can either stick to the right and I believe that's free parking. Alternatively, you can go straight and do paid parking. It's all day parking for $22. We opted for this option since it was quicker and we didn't wanna wait in line. The lagoon area itself has a locally grassy area. For a beach it has very clean restrooms. The beach itself is pretty small, but the water is very shallow and tame. Our baby who is 13 months old had a fantastic time. Highly recommend it will be coming back to this beach with our child in the future.

Hot soup, garbage tourist trap, is literally the only way I can explain this…read more We got there and it looks beautiful! The water is a beautiful shade of blue. You get closer and the water is blue and...white? White because of all the people soup...and sun screen...you go to walk into the water and there's little debris and tiny pieces of trash in the small waves washing up to shore. My daughter put her snorkel on and went in. She couldn't see a thing! And I couldn't see her!! She was 4 feet from shore and when she went in with her bright neon bathing suit (for safety visibility reasons) SHE DISAPPEARED - that's how murky the water is. I was so grossed out when I tried to wade into the water we immediately left.

This is definitely a jewel amongst the rocks. Despite being right next to a popular tourist…read moreattraction, Germaine's Luau, the surrounding area is an industrial park. Once you get through it, it's beautiful and stunning. This time around I didn't get in the water to judge coral, sand, and clarity, but the view in and of itself was stunning. You can walk a few minutes down towards Waianae where you can see the beach front of Germaine's up until you get to the lighthouse which makes for a beautiful walk. There is plenty of picnic tables, however, the grass in the center was shredded leaving a large area of red dirt. Be cautious with the clothes you may be wearing as to not stain it.

Pros: Stunning geography, with sandy shallow turquoise…read morewaters and waves that break about 100 yards out. Picturesque lighthouse. Two rinse areas. Restrooms. Cons: The grass and parking lot between the sand and street badly need garbage pickup. Unused shopping cart in the grassy area. A homeless issue. The restrooms are disgusting and heavily vandalized. No soap in the sinks, no towels. I would not bring a woman here or bring my family. For the life of me, I'm baffled why a state park system can't keep up with clean restrooms, given all the hotel taxes, rental taxes, and airport taxes charged to visitors needing basic facilities as a matter of survival. Not everybody can or wants to stay at the Four Seasons (which is terrific). There isn't a job at a resort for every local resident. Ordinary people need to use restrooms and clean themselves afterwards. If the City of Paris can provide terrific self-cleaning portable facilities, with far more inhabitants, then the state of Hawaii can do it, too. Don't give us that BS that "it's not in the budget." I don't mind paying five dollars or something to use the bathrooms or for a pass. The National Park System does a vastly better job.
