We worked with Kobe on creating a design, submitting the plans and assisting with obtaining permits for a remodeling project to add a bathroom and walk-in closet to our single family home in North Hollywood. Overall we were highly impressed with the professionalism, creativity, and execution of Kobe and his team. He then helped us evaluate the potential costs of constructions for each of the options. My experience with By Marciano, Kobe the owner, and his team was impeccable. Now before I go on you need to know that I don't understand anything about construction and it was a painful learning process for me before I met with Kobe. In the beginning I hired a contractor who started working with no permits and took a few walls down. At some point he left the work and never came back. I was trying to find someone to replace him but no one wanted to touch the work since I didn't have structural building plans and city permits. I needed building plans asap and so I contacted By Marciano through Yelp's request a quote button and received a call from their office within just a few minutes. The guy on the line was very patient, he landed me an ear and listened to all of my rumbling about how bad of experience I had so far with contractors and the city and what's not. He understood my needs right away and set up an appointment for me to meet with Kobe at my house and find solutions. Originally the first opening Kobe had on his schedule was for 4 days later but when Kobe heard about the situation I'm in he called and said he's willing to make changes and meet earlier, which he did. At our meeting Kobe was very professional, he gave me some suggestions and said he can get the plans ready to submit with the city within 14-16 days (previous guy who came said a month). His quote was also lower than the previous guy. I hired Kobe for the job and had the plans in hand EIGHT days later. They are fabulous ! I contacted them to help evaluate the structural integrity of a new 2 story home that has numerous issues including poorly constructed decks, overhangs, and roof drainage issues. I got remarkably prompt and exhaustively detailed service including a site visit from Kobe that lasted several hours beyond what I expected. He repeatedly examined the entire structure and went through every finding by showing me corresponding details on our copies of the builders plans. He went far beyond the scope of the requested task, and spent a tremendous amount of time providing me with a tutorial on how to read building plans, evaluate potential contractors for our repairs, the permitting process, etc. I had the same sort of experience with Daniel, who was my first contact with this firm. He inmediately returned every phone call and email & provided me with selfless advice and references that were clearly to my benefit as opposed to directly generating new business for their own firm.
