Great wine, facilities, and views. The workers are doing their best to manage Covid but the restrictions on tastings is a bummer.

I went on a double date to Koenig vineyards the first "reopening" weekend. (I had previously gone in October 2019) we sat outside...tasted our wine, experienced great customer service, and even joined the wine club! It felt safe, since all the tables were spread out. Koenig is probably my favorite winery in the Boise area! I especially loved the Cab. Sooo good! Here's a helpful hint - if you're in the area for the wineries, go to Koenig on the first day that the tasting room is opened that week. Like Jessica K., my partner and I got a tip-off that Koenig was the place to be on any given day if you're into vodka or wine. Tasting is free, and the bottles range in price from $12-50. The huckleberry vodka is $17 for a bottle, and I'd assume the Idaho potato vodka is similar. They had crackers and cheese at one point, but we got there late in the day and by that point it was just crackers. And also, don't think that that was your car tire making that loud thud when you drove up, that bang noise was just some machine they use to keep the birds away from the fruit. MUST TRY: - the ice wine. It's made from grapes that have frozen, so they have a lower water content and higher sugar content which leaves you with Koenig's multiple-prize-winning dessert wine. It tastes like candy. -the huckleberry vodka. They make it from real Idaho huckleberries, which I hear, are only second to the potato for their known Idaho-ness. They distill the berries and basically make it into a wine and then toss that huckleberry concoction into vodka. It's so smooth, you can drink it by itself. It'll make you forget about all those times in college you took shots of vodka that left you burning and coughing, and make you look forward to the mental picture of yourself in a cocktail dress and big floppy hat with a huckleberrytini. read more

This was one of the most beautiful facilities we visited of all the Idaho WIneries. The 2016 Reserve Cab Sauvignon was hands down the best Cab we tasted during our Idaho winery visits. They also sell spirits. It is one of the largest and one of the nicest facilities in the Snake River Valley. read more

This is a great place for wine tasting with a great atmosphere and they have vodka and bourbon whiskey to purchase. If you want you can bring food and use the picnic tables in the front yard. read more

IMHO the best Winery near Boise, Idaho. My favorites are the Cabernet Sauvignons and Red Blends.

The trip to Caldwell's wine country was worth it. Koenig Vineyards was great. The tasting was very enjoyable. We purchased the Alden Private Reserve. What an incredible bottle of wine! If you are near Caldwell, I highly recommend a visit. read more

I have to compliment the winemaker, the wines are fantastic! My favorite is the Reserve Syrah personally. The only negative I have about the winery is the girl that was upstairs pouring the wine. She failed to welcome us and had absolutely no knowledge of the wine and just poured it and stated what it was. It might just be me but I like to hear about the wine notes and pairing. Numerous times when going back for next pour she was texting on her phone, and there was about 12-15 present upstairs for tasting. She had very poor customer service which was marked and no knowledge of wines. A wine tour came in and questions were asked to her and she laughed not knowing the answers. Again this review isn't ranked low due to the wine, it was excellent wine and atmosphere. They have scored many awards and Koenig is the wine maker of several other vineyards in the area. I would recommend visiting for tasting, but make sure you also swing by Hat Ranch and Bitner Vineyards both produce excellent wines and are in very close proximity. read more

I LOVE KOENIG WINERY. I'm from California, and buy fantastic wines regularly. When I'm in Idaho visiting my family, I ALWAYS request coming to Koenig. My parents are members, and when I got married in Boise in 2009, I bought cases of wine from them. I recommend everyone checking them out. :) read more

We did not go to the distillery, but we bought their Seven Devils Rye Whiskey and it was awful. We were really looking forward to trying it, since we were visiting from out of state and wanted to try something locally made, unfortunately it was very overpriced and tasted terrible. read more
