Anyway back to the food which I have to say was a delight after all the tourist joints in and around the Grand Place, Brussels. The bread is superb and not only does it look good but I'm pleased to report that it tastes good. Seating is cramped sit in the outside if tables available. The staff are helpful and the menu is straight forward and available in several languages. A mix of salads and quiche main courses with simple but delicious desserts which are on display in the shop window. Even though it was packed you didn't feel that you had to give up your table as soon as the last gulp of espresso went down. Well worth a visit!

There are usually some small individual tables, but if you're on your own and fancy sharing elbow space with others, pull up a stool to the big scrubbed pine table. There's no absolute guarantee someone will talk to you, but it does give the place a very friendly and companionable feel. And the food is wonderful, and inexpensive - big hunks of quiche, the best bread you've ever tasted and elaborate little chocolate and gold cakes can all be yours for under EUR15.
