This place exceeded all my expectations for the quality and flavor of the food. I had the chicken curry, spicy and believe me it had all the right flavors. The curries are served with a portion of rice. The service is good, order is taken rather quickly and for comes out fairly fast. The ambience is ok, nothing fancy there. read more

Not a super fancy-place by aesthetic standards, but the food I ordered with my mates was nothing short of delicious: mixed pakora, chicken saag, lamb biryani, and the mattar paneer. The server asked how spicy we wanted it, so I asked him to make my dish really hot. The chef did not hold back with the heat, but it worked *with* the flavors rather than against them. They also offer a menu in English, which was helpful for my mates who cannot read German. The only downside for this place is the lack of specialties from a tandoori oven. I suppose the premises are too small for one, but my mates were a little disappointed they could not order naan. The bathura was still good, but it is a fried bread that could not quite satisfy their craving that night. Still, if you want spicy Indian food near the center of Hannover, I can unhesitatingly recommend Koh-I-Noor. read more

This is one of those few places in Germany that serves authentic Indian food. The ambience itself is not so great, but who cares when you get great food at a great price. The staff is great and they readily modify your food to suit your taste. Big fan of the Mango Lassi. The prices are really good. read more

When traveling, we love to find restaurants full of locals. This one was on that list of good finds. Seemed like a lot of folks from the local neighborhood were calling in take out. Anyhow, as mentioned in another reviewers post...not the place to go if you want to impress your date with fancy trimmings....BUT if you want to dazzle them with good food, swing by here. Food prepared by 1~2 people over small stove in a front kitchen. Wife and I scored 2 mains, 3 orders flatbread, a wine, cola, and water for 30euro. Seating is a bit iffy with a small handful of street tables and a few inside. First trip we waited 45 min to sit but didn't mind because we had no reservations. Second trip still no reservations but seated immediately. So it's a gamble. We've hit this place up twice on Hannover visits and will come here again in the future. read more

The food here is affordable, delicious, and fresh. The wine pours are generous. The staff is friendly and everything is cooked right in front of you. I got the chicken vindaloo and the sauce was perfect. Next time I'm in Hannover, I will be a return customer. read more

Overpriced decent food with a friendly touch…read more No doubt, this recently opened Indian restaurant has a heartily atmosphere. The owner says, s/he exchanged his/her profession for the love of Indian cuisine, but, frankly, that doesn't cut it. We took the opening menu (4 courses, €19.95) plus lentil soup. The poppadums were fine, the dips alright. The second starter, chicken and cheese, had a fine consistency, but a bland flavor. Main course, lamb khorma and a vegetable dish, had very little meat, which was decent, but far from great. Desert was plain vanilla ice cream with mango. Nothing was really bad, but no exceptional tastes, either. Staff is very friendly and likes children, a definite plus. Atmosphere is casual and the ambient is is congruent with the pretensions. Altogether the ambitions are not met. Pity, because one feels that the staff tries to do their best.

Das Koh-I-Noor Dhaba bekamen wir von Freunden empfohlen. Das Essen ist super lecker! Abends ist es allerdings schon einmal schwierig ein Plätzchen zu finden, aber man kann das Essen auch mitnehmen. Die Inhaber sind sehr freundlich und gehen auf alle Wünsche ein. Wer danach noch irgendwo einen Termin oder ein Date hat, sollte sich allerdings Wechselsachen ins Auto legen, da der Essensduft doch sehr in den Kleidern hängt, was nicht schlimm ist, wenn man es weiß und man wird ja schließlich auch mit hervorragenden Speisen belohnt. Wir waren mittlerweile schon mehrfach dort und kommen gerne wieder. Auch Freunde sind auf unsere Empfehlung hin bereits zu regelmässigen Besuchern geworden. read more
