Tried this Asian restaurant for dinner after a long walk around champ d Elysee. The sticky Rice with mango is delish, you can taste the mango and the coconut cream. Service is slow, we waited a while before they took our order. The waiter forgot to gave us small plates, considering the price, I'd rather go somewhere to have Asian food. The ambiance is casual.

Okay, so I hope this doesn't sound racist but in the second week of our European vacation, my family missed Asian food. White rice in particular. Not risotto. Not some wild grain stuffed into a Cornish game hen. Plain sticky white rice. So as the hunger bug hit us on our stroll through Champs-Élyssés we decided enough was enough! Not that there were a lot of Asian places to choose from but so long as it didn't say Panda Express we were in! Kok Ping. Not an inspiring name and maybe you say it with a bit of a smirk but hey, no Panda. Billing themselves as Chinese and Thai this was just a side street off the boulevard closer to the Arc De Triomphe. From the outside it doesn't look like much but then you step down into a nicely decorated venue. Dark wood. White linen. Service was more friendly and fairly attentive. At the end of the meal they even gave you hot towels to refresh yourselves. 5* The food, while different from Chinese in the States, was good. I think a lot of it had to do with different quality of ingredients as well as cultural influences of France. Or maybe no MSG.... Fried Tofu: 4* Not like the Salted Pepper kind but breaded. We LOVE tofu in the family and missed it almost as much as rice. Onion Beef:3.5* reminiscent of Mongolian beef but way too much onion Crispy Chicken: 4.5* puts a smile on your face Chicken Egg Fried Rice: 2* notice how I wrote that title. Not "Chicken Fried Rice." That is what we thought we were getting. It is literally fried rice with egg that comes from a chicken. Lost in translation I guess. A little pissed on that one but also my fault. House noodles: 4* came topped with real crab meat. Noodles were good but again different. Would still order again. Okay that's it. If you need a break from baguettes, escargot, and foi gras (not that I had any) Kok Ping is a pretty good alternative.

I follow a plant-based diet, and finding dishes without meat or cheese can be challenging in a city known for its rich food. I came across Kok Ping while walking along the Champs Elysee. The sign is visible from the main route. Food, service, ambiance was very nice! They have a whole vegetarian section of their menu including veggies, rice, dumplings, and noodles. I had the grilled eggplant with a side of steamed rice, and a bottle of water €22, a fair price for the prime location!

Restaurant Kok Ping serves a combination of Chinese and Thai cuisine in an elegant setting. We had a leisurely lunch here in a group, and ate family style. I don't know much about the state of Chinese food in France, but the food here was good but not spectacular. With such a nice upscale decor, I was expecting a little more from the food (especially for the price). We got a variety of dishes: beef, chicken, pork, soup, tofu and fried rice. For our hungry group, they were good and got devoured. But the food felt more like the kind you'd get at a regular sit-down Westernized Chinese restaurant anywhere - nothing too exciting. Good service - our waiters were polite and helpful (and could speak English), and they even had the hot washcloth to clean your hands and face after the meal. The place seemed a bit pricy, but perhaps being just off the Champs Elysees makes it a high rent area.

This is the worst food I've eaten while in Paris. The bad part is, this meal was the most expensive! Don't come here!

5 star decor, 1 star food quality. Over salty food and not skillful cooking. Good for business meals but don't go for good food.

It does take a little bit of planning, as orders tend to be ready about 25-30 minutes after you place your order (whether by phone or in-person), so you can't be in too much of a rush. I always get the pork dumplings, either with Chinese cabbage or chives, but they have plenty of other options such as beef and chicken, as well as vegetarian options. I have recently gotten take-out from here for my parents, who are Chinese, and who were really impressed by the quality of the dumplings here. We also find that the prices are extremely reasonable given the quality and quantity of the food. My parents also enjoyed some of the other salad dishes that are available, namely the cucumber salad and the seaweed salad. The dumplings are served with a spicy soy sauce for dipping. I have not dined in here, but having seen the space when picking up orders, it is a little small and cramped and definitely more of a take-out spot. The service is efficient, although not overly warm. A great place for authentic Chinese dumplings.

The locals must feel the same as there was a never ending line of people ordering or waiting to be seated. The price is extremely fair. One is sure to become full without breaking the bank. bravo!

The waiter allowed some to enter and then asked if anyone had reservations due to limited seating. No one spoke up so he seated the rest of us. He was fair in how he handled the orders once we were seated, and asked in order of who entered first. I had their cascade petit for €38 and it came with 4 tiers. We were able to customize each layer and we chose steamed buns for the top layer, pork intestines for the second, grilled meat for the third, and this sour vegetable and fish broth for the last. We grilled our own meat and ordered some additional hot pot items for the last layer. The soup is actually tasty but gets tiring when you have a large amount of it. It also wasn't the best choice if you were thinking of using it for hot pot. Overall, this was interesting and I enjoyed my meal.

(You get to choose the type of food you want, we went for the spiciest just to have a little taste of the real Chungking city in China) If you want to eat actual Chinese food, then this is the place. The only problem is the wait, even if you call in advance, you'll have to wait; and even after you're seated, you'll have to wait for the food. The place is super super crowded, and super busy. The waiters are patient although they can't keep track of things and forget you orders (Just remind them, they're nice). It's not a good place for groups since it's really small. Go with ONE other person to better enjoy the dinner!
