Category winner, Steak and Cheese, is the pie I ordered, at $4.00 it is a little beauty. The pastry is delicately flakey and perfectly crisp, the filling is perfectly flavoured and balanced. Well deserving of its Gold accolade. There is a whole range of other pie flavours like bacon and egg, potato top, chicken, mince etc and you can bet they would also taste delicious. You can order main meals from the blackboard menu if you prefer non counter fare. Their range of sweet cakes and treats looked fabulous, in all a great place to grab a bite. If you are not on the run, then relax in the restaurant as they have plenty of seating and it is clean and modern.

This is another one of those cool cafes that are scattered around the place…read more There are a couple of them but I can only account for my experience with this Robert Haris cafe. And it wasn't exactly the best. The place itself is nice. Modern design and furniture. That is where the perks stop for me. I went on a busy sunday afternoon and I really just wanted to cool down with a nice cold beverage. And I admit I am a fussy coffee drinker but in a place that literally sells mostly coffee you must be expecting some orders to be fussy. Well the lady at the counter was shocked with my half strength soy order and gave me a odd look, like I was asking her to perform some crazy miracle. She even said to the person standing next to her "don't worry I'll do that order" as if it was something out of the ordinary. I think a lot of people drink soy now and half strength is nothing to fuss about, especially in front of the customer. Anyway she made it and it was the most pathetic drink ever. I had order a frappe and what I had gotten in return was a sloppy milky substance. It wasn't iced it, was like chocolate milk and it was gross so I threw it away after a few sips. Won't be going back there again.

So…read moreI'm taking my pics the cashier walks out from behind the counter and says no pics and stood there as I deleted them. As I've deleted all of them, she said delete more but there are no more pics to delete...wth. This is normally my go to place for meat pies and I kind of wanted to brush it off, so as I'm paying for my 2 potato top pies, she asks where I'm from. I told her I'm from America, she said no. Uhh...I think I know where I'm from...so she says no you're from China, I told her again that I'm from America. She said Americans have respect and that I'm from China and that she could also report me. I said go ahead, you can report me. I walked out feeling the crap, 2 potato top pies, & my change. If only she had asked me about my nationality before and accused me for lying and making me feel like shit, I would have walked out without buying anything. Now, I can no longer eat their pies. I also wish I had a witness to at least see how that place treats people.
