The Thames River flows along this park, and there is even a Kiwanis Music Park right on the park site for people to play at with the musical instruments that are set up there. How cool is that! There are lots of nice, quiet, peaceful trails that make up this park - this is an ideal place to get your exercise done at, or even just unwind at or meet up with friends at. The park is overall well maintained and kept well clean. Just be mindful of the numerous geese that take over this park. You therefore will want to watch your step while walking - you sure don't want to step on top of their crap! I wish more people knew about how serene of an experience Gibbons Park provides. It truly is the best park in the city, at least in my opinion.

Usually has outhouses, especially during the summer when it's crowded, so washrooms are readily available! Lots of seating - both benches and picnic tables for large groups. The park is bursting with paved bike paths, and a foot bridge that crosses the Thames river right near all the action. There's a pavilion and other standard park fair. Cross the foot bridge, and you're in Waldorf park just across the river, which is just a few blocks from Western's campus. There's plenty of parking, but be warned: it's a 3 hour maximum, and they will enforce this. One of the best parks in London!

Conveniently located almost right at the forks of the Thames it is also along the Thames Valley Parkway and sees a lot of bikes and rollerblading and hikers when the weather allows. While Victoria Park sees most of the festival action, you can often find something going on here on the weekends and the Canada Day fireworks are a must attend event. It's quite a large park and offers lots of room for picnics, frisbee or whatever outdoor activity your heart might desire. It's a delightful spot to take in a little nature right in the heart of the city!

This park has a ton of green space, a small play park, and a great trail for running/biking. There is also a beach volleyball court. Before the days of IMPark down in Harris, it was easy to park your car and go for a run or play a game of v-ball, but now you have to pay. The trails here can lead you far and wide across the city of London. It is really neat to see how far they can take you. You wont find this park jam packed with festivals every weekend. From Rock the Park, to fireworks during Victoria Day, it is a nice space to be active or hang out to get away from it all. The geese can kind of be an annoyance, especially when they use the walkways as their bathroom but hey, thats nature! I've seen some really cute ducklings while walking the trails. Be sure to watch for warnings about high water during the spring time. It can be dangerous. Definitely visit Harris Park, even if you are stopping in at the nearby museum, it would be a great spot for a picnic!

I like how easy it was to find the park and just enjoy a walk and rest on the bench, as there were some that provided shade too. It's nice to walk through a park inside of the car filled streets. There were no events during the time we were there, but I could see myself visiting often if I Iived in London.

I'm actually a little hesitant to write this review as this almost feels like our own private…read moregetaway for my family and I. While there are a few ways to enter, we normally park at the main entrance in the small private (and free) lot right across from Oakridge mall on Oxford St. With a few kilometers of trails, we can walk for quite a while seeing birds, frogs, squirrels, chipmunks, racoons and even deer - but rarely other people. There is a boardwalk that leads to Redmond's Pond at the centre of the bog, where there is a viewing platform. It's pretty amazing and always abuzz with dragonflies, butterflies and swarming insects of less attractive varities. Amazingly, (and I should warn you actually should NOT do this), if you step off the wooden walkway the entire surrounding area feels like walking on a big waterbed. You see, what appears to be the ground is in fact a thick layer of peat floating on the water like mat. And while I already know you are actually going to step on it, take care if you do because its a barrier that could be broken - with significant enviromental impact as well as the dryness of one's footwear. I urge everyone to check it out at least once, just not when I'm planning to go and I feel fairly confident that you'll return. It's a paradise within the city for those who are looking to enjoy the quiet of nature without a long trip.

If you want a mini getaway from the city without spending a dime, visit Sifton Bog!…read more The first time I visited Sifton Bog was a few years back in high school when we took a class trip here for geography, and I instantly fell in love with this place! It is so peaceful, well maintained, and relaxing to take a walk through. There's a wooden boardwalk and after 15 minutes of walking, it takes you to the bog! In the springtime, there's little tadpoles and sometimes you can see a turtle in the water! Sometimes it does get kinda busy, and you'll come across multiple people during your walk. There are also trails and bike paths you can take, and a free parking lot to park your car. As far as I know, Sifton Bog closes down once winter hits and the snow takes over but it re-opens in spring. Give this place a try if you need to reconnect with nature on a budget! Tip for parents: please do not bring your children here and scoop up tadpoles from the bog to take home. I've seen way too many parents do this, and it's incredibly disrespectful towards nature and the animals. Please leave the tadpoles and all other animals and plants alone, and enjoy from a distance.
