Nowadays when cake is served at an event usually it's for a wedding or there for photo opportunity purposes...usually left hacked up but not really eaten by guest. After crashing and falling off my bike near this cake shop I decided that what I needed was a nice sweet treat to accompany my coffee at Zoe 2 bar....which i was en route to, to meet fellow qyper Sooffietje. Everything in this shop look absolutely amazing... I don't know what to choose!!! I finally settled on a glazed kind of lemon and almond jam roll that melted in my mouth and was so perfectly light and fluffy and not at all too sweet but definitely sweet enough to satisfy a sugar craving... you can tell a lot of love, care and decades of experience has gone into creating these airy scrumptious treats. I'm going back for the Blueberry cheesecake next time and will definitely be ordering my 23rd birthday cake from this shop!!

Yes, its probably one of the most expensive bakeries in the world but this place has got some great…read morethings going for it which makes it worth it: -almost all of the ingredients come from the region and all are either certified organic or bio-dynamic. -they use green energy for all of their locations including where they bake the bread and have a very green policy when it comes to energy consumption (and trying to reduce it as much as possible). -finally, and most important, besides the fact that you feel good about getting your bread here is that unlike the reputation that some organic bakeries have for only baking things that resemble cardboard, its also all around the best tasting bread in Hamburg. My picks are the Kernbeißer Brötchen, Holsteiner Vollkornbrot, Laugenbrötchen, Ciabatta and of course the Franzbrötchen ;).

We actually have started doing this as well. We come and pick our stuff up and eat it at home. Like I said, it really is that good and we live nearby so we have home court benefit. At the same time, I really wouldn't recommend the cafe as comfortable and inviting unless very little is going on and this is rare. They are successful, popular and well known. What a wonderful surprise it was! The young manager, Stefan, took my special request order for the wedding cake and also for a birthday cake (for the day following the wedding). Both cakes were tasty, beautiful and impressive. For the wedding, Stefan created a Black Forest Cake covered with Marzipan, and for the birthday a mixed Chocolate cake with a special decoration. Our guests loved the cakes very much and we were very happy with the service, prices and the amazing approach to us as clients. I recommend this family like bakery from the bottom of my heart!

Not even weekly. The rolls are okay, but in my opinion it's not the manifestation of rolls worldwide there. Standing in line can be fun, I don't have to tell you. But standing in line over the street for rolls ? Only if you need buying rolls as your first event on a sunny sunday morning. Coffee was just okay, though, but service was rather exceptionally cheery. Never got an apartment in the area, but if I would have, I'd hop in here from time to time.
