On our way to a business appointment, we stopped at Kookaburra Coffee in Manhasset. I usually order coffee black, and if possible dark roast. Although their coffee was good, I was not comfortable that they only would accept cash. Since we are all concerned about pandemic crises, I rather use a credit card rather than cash for obvious reasons. read more

If I went to work or school here, I'd probably frequent this coffee shop every morning and whenever I need a quiet place to study. It's so nice, clean, and the decoration makes me feel calm and able to get through 10 chapters of work just by sitting there. The noise level was basically non-existent when I went around 2:30. Everything is neat, the coffee tastes great, the prices are affordable and the quality of the service is quite high. I loved the baristas, they're so chill and nice. The shop is so welcoming. I wish I had more time to frequent this coffee shop but I'm just visiting for a week. It's like a Kaldi's, with better pastries and more affordable options. Although Kaldi's coffee might be too hard to beat. read more

This is a wonderful coffee place. The coffee is always fantastic and the croissants and pastries are better than most bakeries. The chairs are not completely comfortable, but that is a good thing because patrons do not turn the tables into their personal workspace. The best part is that the staff is always friendly and pleasantly professional. That's why I was taken aback on a recent early morning visit by one woman that I had mistaken for her coworker who was still working on my order. I couldn't even get the words out to confirm that it was my drink, and I barely made a motion toward it, much less touched it, when she abruptly said: "That's not your drink, I'm not helping you." I was very embarrassed. The younger woman who was helping me immediately came over and was apologetic in tone. I could tell she wasn't thrilled about working with this person. Although this incident will not keep me from going back, if spoken to again in such a way, I will probably ask for the manager. read more

Excellent coffee with an even better staff. The absolute only reason they're losing a star is because it's cash only. That being said, I went in there without cash and the guy Nick behind the counter told me not to worry and just to come back later. Definitely don't get that kind of customer service everyday. With that being said of course I immediately went to chase down the street and cane back with the money. Nick was very appreciative of me coming back and even offered me my next coffee free. Great coffee and snacks. They have different milk selections such as almond and soy which other places in the area don't have (get with it people). The doughnuts are from Doughology which is amazing. The also have a fridge full of cold drinks like locally brewed Kombucha. The only cons to this place is that sometimes the staff is super slow, but they are so sweet so it kinda makes up for it. Also they are cash only which sucks because who really carries cash anymore? Maybe put in an ATM if thats going to be the case? read more

What a great addition to the town of Malverne! My boyfriend and I came to this place a few weeks ago to sit for coffee and really enjoyed it. The place has a true "small town" feel. The baristas were extremely welcoming and accommodating, and seemed to know a lot of people who walked in by name. The place is bright and inviting. A great place to sit down for a cup of coffee with a friend! We ordered an iced coffee, a latte, and a cranberry/orange muffin top. All were delightful! Will be coming back. read more

I definitely recommend this place! I am a huge coffee drinker and have been looking all over for a coffee shop with the perfect ambiance this place has. They even have oatmeals, bagels and all kinds of pastries. The customer service is AMAZING, super friendly people. Do not forget to get recommendations from the employees as they are very well trained to find what you will like the most. They have in house flavors which are so unique to anything Ive ever tried, I love the "campfire" which has chocolate syrup and cinnamon in a latte and absolutely love the "birch bark" in house flavor. I was so excited when I heard they were opening a location in Malverne. The coffee is great, my favorite is their iced cappuccino. Also their muffins are really tasty, as well as their other pastries, everything is made in house. It's cash only, so make sure you've got some. Amazing coffee, inconsistent and annoying staff. Some days you get a wonderful barista and other times, like a prior review mentioned you get the most annoying children making the drinks. So excited when they opened a kookaburra in Malverne. Perfect size and location. Delicious specialty drinks, pastries, muffins and even avocado toast. Friendly staff willing to go out of their way to make anything you'd like. Plenty of non dairy, vegan foods and drink additions or the norm depending on your needs. Have been multiple times and will continue regularly coming back; would much rather pay extra to support a small business such as this vs starbucks or dunkin. Edit: wanted to add how pleased we are that the establishment is also dog friendly and very accommodating in that manner. read more

I don't usually write reviews, but I must say this place deserves it. This cafe has opened up recently and is very clean and aesthetically pleasing. Their coffee is great, so are their bagels. I really enjoyed the food I purchased from them. Most importantly, they have the most amazing customer service I have ever witnessed. Their workers are so nice and genuine I felt like I could be friends with them. Kookaburra deserves much more attention than it is receiving and I think everyone should give them a try. read more
