The only thing I mean the ONLY thing that stops this from being 5 stars is CASH ONLY!! Bring cash ahead of time if you plan on going here because finding a nearby ATM is a pain in the butt. The 7/11 machine has been robbed so it's gone and the Wells Fargo machine up the street in front fiesta is hit or miss. Fiesta is the closest ATM. Other than that this was the best damn baked potato I've ever had in my entire 41 years of existence on this earth. Talk about full this held true to its name because after eating this I basically passed out and woke up in the middle of the night in a daze not realizing I had fallen asleep. When I first step to the counter, there was a lady standing there she said nothing to me. Hi can I take your order or nothing then I ordered the food even after I got such horrible service. I got the worst baked potato. I have ever eaten in my life, I asked for chopped beef and sausage. The beef was not chopped, and it was not tender. I could not eat any of the chopped beef that was in my baked potato ,I literally had to go through and pick the chop beef, out to the point I got tired, and I threw the baked potato in trash. The sausage wasn't even tender. I would never come to this place ever again I always try to support my black owned businesses, but not when they give half ass service and food. Ps. The baked potato was cool, I got brisket and link. I did not care for the rib plate in which I got baked beans and green beans as the sides. The Texas toast is just regular white bread. I went back when they were in Bonnieview. Based on that viral video...yea you know which one. Some damn good bbq. They are now in Illinois where I grew up. The brisket nachos are insanely good. I purchased a heavyweight potato with chopped beef and links. I was not pleased with it. The beef was rubbery and fatty. The links was hard and dried out. I have purchased the heavyweight several times but it has been awhile. For $18 it was a waste of money. I would have taken it back but it was a distance to do so. So after reading about Koolys and finding out it was rather close we decided to give it a try. WHY DID IT TAKE ME SO LONG TO FIND OUT ABOUT THIS PLACE!!??? Due to covid constraints, Koolys takes orders from a small window at the Restaurant, it's a small place and lines on Friday can get long but it's worth the wait. I being "greedy" ordered the "Heavyweight" the name says it all; it was a gigantic potato filled with butter, sour cream, chopped brisket, and smoked sausage, it's then smothered in melted cheese topped with green onions and covered in bacon bits.
