They have bar tables that you are given to place on the bar in front of you just before your food arrives. Surprisingly convenient. The food, perch and pan fried walleye, was better than most I've had. The portions were large and we all took home leftovers. I liked the option of hash browns as a potato choice. What to expect went coming to johns you will not get a seat right away you most likely (on Friday for sure) will wait an hour or more. This trip to the corner bar landed us on a Saturday night prime rib special. The whole family came this time. My dad and I ordered prime rib sandwich ( my only complaint) it's cheap in price and your get what you pay for by getting 1/8 inch thick cut on this. I would gladly have paid 12-15 dollars for a good amount of meat. The wife got broasted chicken and she loved it. My sister ordered the queen cut prime rib and as you can see not like most prime ribs where you get a good portion of fat on it this one did not have much fat and you can come to expect that from johns. We were told by our friends, who had been there several times, that they offer only pizzas, soups and appetizers. Our friends had not tried the pizza but said the appetizers are great. There were literally a dozen soups to choose from for our flights. I picked sausage tortellini, clam chowder and stuffed pepper for my flight. It also comes with a piece of cheese/garlic bread. Not only were the soups nice and hot, they were all tasty. This sentiment was shared by my dining partners. The staff were friendly and helpful. The drinks were reasonable and well made. The ambience was excellent. Definitely a place we will return to!
