Okay, I held off reviewing Greek Kouzina for awhile because I wanted to try more of their menu and…read moretoday I got the chance. One thing I never fail to order is their stuffed zucchini because it's really good and feels really healthy... it's "greek rice with pine nuts, raisins and tomatoes stuffed in zucchini". However, today I found out that they modified their menu and there's no longer stuffed zucchini (sob!); instead, they changed it to stuffed red bell pepper! Badly needing my rice fix, I ordered it anyway, but very doubtfully. We also got the beef gyros (small pieces of beef, greens, and feta cheese in pita wrap) and the crispy calamares. The good news is, the stuffed red bell pepper was surprisingly even BETTER than the zucchini. It's the sweetest pepper I've ever tasted! Truthfully I'm not a fan of bell peppers because the green ones turn me off so I thought they all taste weird, but this red bell pepper was a game changer for me. TRY IT TRY IT! The other ones we ordered were pretty good as well. So far, I haven't tasted anything that I particularly disliked from Greek Kouzina. I also like their Lamb Meatballs. For dessert, their Greeka Yogurt is a must-try. The honey mixed with yogurt is amazing. If you run out of honey you can always ask for more.

Whenever I take Little Baguio, I always see small restaurant with lots of cars parked outside it, even on the street. One day, a client of mine asked to meet at Greeka, though not the one in San Juan, but the then newly opened branch in SM Aura. Because I already have a major favorite from another restaurant, thought it would be "safe" for me to try Greeka's version, and maybe even compare to see which one I like better. So, I ordered the htipiti, which is basically a feta cheese dip. It was a bit coarse, with small bits of feta and not spicy like the one I have been accustomed to. Their pita is also a bit on the heavier side. Then I had their Roka Garides pasta, which I was unsure of at first, because I didn't think arugula would work well with shrimp and pasta. However, I was glad I tried it because it was good! Being able to enjoy pasta with vegetables is good, but with this, it's just wonderful. Overall, I found that it cannot be compared to my favorite Greek resto, as Greeka has a totally different approach and feel, not just to the eyes but to the palate as well.

Caesar salad with extra calamari. This pretty much sums up why I love Greeka Kouzina…read more So good is this salad that it has surpassed my adoration for Cyma's Roka Salata. It has even surpassed my ability to think and eat rationally. My fiancé can attest this. When the craving for Greeka's Caesar salad hits, there's just no stopping me from getting it. Like a single-minded Beagle determined to get that food on the table! Any argument, any objection, any other attempt to sway me to go somewhere else is FUTILE. F-U-T-I-L-E. I MUST HAVE MY CAESAR SALAD WITH CALAMARI!! But it's just Caesar salad, for God's sake - I hear your judging thoughts, Ms. Caesar-Salad-Know-It-All. And to you I say, IT IS NOT JUST CAESAR SALAD. It is a bouquet of greens drenched in thiiiiick Feta-based dressing, so-good calamari wedged in between every leaf and generous Parmesan strips adding that extra oomph. Miam miam miam. I wonder if my fiancé will get annoyed if we have this again for dinner tonight (hehe we just ate there last night and last week).

Its 2 floors with plenty of seats upstairs. Good for small party or a gathering with friends and family. The service is a bit slow but im noticing a trend recently when it comes to service. You have to be really aggressive and tell them what you need.... politely of course. There's no need for diva rudeness. Lol. As for the menu, its family style. Sharing is encouraged. The portions are huge... a bit pricey but totally worth it. No lunch menu peeps so order big and splurge. I noticed everyone getting the lamb and we decided to get the 2 lamb wrap with 3 sides (700+). Its good for 2-3 ppl.... I say its good for 2 ppl and it comes with 4 tortilla. I wish it was pita instead. It wouldve been perfect. A tortilla wrap in a greek restaurant... hmm. We asked for extra wrap (100+) and it was a bit tough. lost a star there. However, the lamb was perfectly roasted and well seasoned. It truly melts in your mouth. You guys totally need to try it. For my sides i had grilled vegetable salad(zucchinni, green pepper, and egg plant topped with feta cheese), eggplant dip, and sun dried tomato hummus. I never had sun dried tomato hummus. Im usually a hummus snob since i like my hummus lemony with lots of garlic. However this isn't bad. Well seasoned... not too salty. Its not smooth. Its somewhat chunky. Still really good. Its a must try! All in all i had a great experience. A slow start with a few oopsies but the lamb made up for it. Delish. Will i come back.... theres a possibility.

The onion rings were crispy but very oily and that was it. It somehow lacked flavor. The Mad Bird or their version of fried chicken was disappointing. The dominantly paprika spice was left on the chicken skin, though crunchy, it left the meat bland. The supposed-biryani rice was bland with only a color of yellow. I almost did not finish it. This time, I went back hoping it has improved since it is gaining customers. I tried their Souvlaki and Gyro. The biryani rice improved from my last visit as it is flavorful. The souvlaki was tender and the spices were there, but it was too salty. The Gyro was truly a disappointment. First, the meat was too salty even with all the thick pita, chips, and vegetable covering it. Next, I opened the gyro because I couldn't feel any texture, only to find out that the beef are too small and too few. The chips gave the crunch, but it was not delicious. Greek St is inexpensive, and that's probably their only advantage especially for their market around. The appetizers are not worth it. Go for the mains. I really hope they improve soon.

We have decided to eat here as I have not tried the resto yet. The place while small, it quite nicely leverage on the natural light outside to light their resto inside. Their food presentation is also good, couple with the good natural light coming in the store, you get to take instagram-worthy shots. :) Unfortunately the food did not match the picturesque presentation. The gyro initially looks big but when I open the wrap, they only have a thin strip of beef in it. I even not sure if I have tasted the feta cheese. For a 159, it is an inexpensive greek food, but seeing how miniscule the beef inside, getting a sharwama kebab across the mall would have been "sulit". And the worse, it was too salty! As for the Slouvaki (skewered pork kebab), on the first bite, the flavor was good, you can really taste the herbs and seasoning on it. The dish would have been good if not for its over saltiness. Hope they could be more light-handed with the salt and improve on their gyro, having more meat than fillers.
