This is one of the last remains of the 'Ol Jewish East End. It may not look fancy from the outside, but the simple, yet tasty dishes are still a delight in this local gem. Kossoff no longer serves the local jewish community, instead the Petticoat Lane traders fill themselves up on a Sunday morning and city workers looking for a non-chain eatery queue outside for a tasty beigel.
The salt beef is a must, a classic delight served on a beigel with english mustard and sweet gherkins. My favourite though is the baked cheese cake, with sultanas. It may not be the lowest calorie choice, mainly because the slices are so generous, but it is well worth it!
All in all it's one of those hidden gems that's worth a try. read more
