The sanctuary artwork is meaningful and worth spending time to admire, particularly the sculpture pieces. The side chapel is also a must-see. Make sure to put this on your itinerary if you are in Brno to see the sites.

The church itself is beautiful and the basilica itself has so much attention to detail in it, that you can sit in awe of it. Be aware that in May, it's common to see first communion recipients coming for mass and they can be there during any service during the week/weekend. Take some time and enjoy the museum and the grounds, but this is a must see pilgrimage for any Catholic for sure.

Her Basilica has been added to with many other small shrines and places of worship (the gold and jewel incrusted Sanctuary of the Blessed Sacrament and the sumptuously outfitted Shrine to the Sacred Heart of Jesus are also not to be missed; they almost, but not quite, out do the marvelous glorious shrine to Mary's sacred picture (alleged to have been painted by the evangelist Saint Luke on no less a piece of wood than the table of the Holy Family). A building pulsing with energy and bursting at the seams with evidence of countless miracles, this Shrine renewed my own personal Marian devotion and Christian faith.

The Jazz Tibet Club, not to be confused with the cafe around the corner, is an incredible venue for…read morelive music, people watching, and great brews. On my first trip to Olomouc I found out about Poppy Ackroyd and Carlos Cipa's show at the Jazz Tibet Club in October 2015. Spontaneously, I purchased a ticket and will never forget the experience of this magical music and cozy and intimate space. This was Poppy's 5th show in Olomouc and she shared how much she loved this venue and I have to stand behind her on that one. The venue was intimate but large enough for everyone who wanted to witness the glory of these musicians. Attendees were allowed to sit wherever they could find a spot, including on the stairs leading to the loft-like seating area just above. The floor seating was nice and all of the people attending were kind, polite and genuine. The bartenders were attentive and quick to serve drinks and food during the show. The style of the interior is warm with wooded walls, Tibetan-like light fixtures on the walls and historical prints. I have to second Use-It O.'s review that the vaulted ceiling absolutely magnifies the musical performance and heightens your auditory experience. If you arrive a tad early before they open, go by the crepe cart and pick up a delicious and cheap crepe - my favorite is the banana and nutella - I will dream of it for the rest of my life. The cart is a short walk from the Jazz Club. I will never forget my experience at the Jazz Tibet Club and am so glad that such an incredible venue exists in Olomouc. Don't question whether you should go here - just go! It is a truly warm and welcoming experience. The tram stop is very close by too.
