Please keep in mind that we are used to large stores like Best Buy and other large electronic stores, so the size didn't phase us much. Like any other store like this, you'll probably have to find someone to help you, but that's really the norm in most large stores whether here or in the U.S. I bought my new cell phone here when mine died (so sad!), and we started our search for a new laptop that I will need in the near future. It's nice to be able to touch, hold, tap laptops to see what feels right. So, I do appreciate the variety for this reason. And with this store in the center and the other in the arena area, I feel like it's easy to get whatever you might need. NOTE TO TRAVELERS: If you have a chip card from the U.S., the machine will not ask for your pin. You will need to go to customer service so they can make a copy of your passport and verify your information.

When I entered, thee guy from the shop immediately came up to me, and asked what I needed. He was very friendly and helpful. He said that they sell new, as well as used computers, and all other kind of appliances. They also offer repair service, and can help you with installing new softwares. I haven't been able to use any of their services, but it is a handy address to know, in my opinion.

I found "The Fixables" on Yelp and walked in the door without calling, with no appointment. I was greeted warmly, and when I told them I needed the glass replaced, I was surprised to find out that they had the equipment on hand and that their technician could repair it within the hour. While I waited, I was served a nice Americano and made myself comfortable in their nice waiting room. Within 30 minutes, the glass was replaced and I was on my way. The cost met the estimated I was provided at the beginning and I even got a free screen protector. I would highly recommend The Fixables. Friendly, efficient and fair.

MY WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. I moved to Amsterdam as a student and wanted a two year contract sim…read morecard. They gave me a sim card and three days later my phone still didn't work. I went back to their shop and they told me it was a "systematic" issue that I just had to wait. I waited for another two weeks and nothing. They gave me another sim card before a trip to Spain ensuring me it would work this time. I got to spain and I had no service at all. Again went to the store they said I had to wait some more for the second sim card to appear in the system. In a month I went to this location 7 times and not once were they able to help me. This company is a mess the people at the store and the people they respond to have no idea what their doing. If you are an international student or just someone who moved to the netherlands do not waste your time or money coming here it isn't worth it. WORST PHONE COMPANY EVER.

It was a few minutes before I could get the attention of one of the sales people so I checked out what phones they carried. They had just started carrying iphones. When I finally got one of the staff to help me and answer my questions I was informed of what I as a foreigner had to get first in order to get a phone. That was very helpful information starting me down the bureaucratic path I was required to walk. I am still walking down that path, now weeks later lol. Until I acquire the necessary items I was told that I could use a pay as you go phone. So I bought one. Unfortunately, the phone I bought is, though inexpensive, not a good phone, even for temporary use. I appreciate the fact that the sales person saved me a little money but if you find yourself in this predicament I'd recommend spending a little more money for a better temporary phone.
