YAS ! This is fun ! My dietitian. Told me I need to be more mindful of eating. Cooking your own food is definitely a way to be more mindful. I hit up a TON of protein AND fiber. I got to make my own sauce which gave me a little more control of what I'm putting in. The food is all fresh, some have marinades. And it all turns out delightful !!! Yes it's all you can eat. If you have plenty of extra you can pay to take stuff home. So pay attention to what you're ordering and amounts. Some items you order "1" of you get 1. Other items you order. "1" of you get a handful. Think, raw tapas. Very enjoyable, super friendly, we WILL be back and bringing friends !

So happy to have a AYCE Korean bbq AND hot pot place in Maple Grove! The selection here is great but note that the lunch and dinner selection can vary. I like the tomato soup base for hotpot and definitely recommend the galbi beef for kbbq. The sauce bar and small appetizers bar is a good selection. Complementary ice cream cups or popsicle is also included at the end. The drinks here are limited and I would skip the boba here. Great place but there are limited tables for large groups. Overall, definitely be prepared to wait during dinner time, especially on weekends. Tip: you can get free meal on your bday week if you bring 4 other people with you. P.S. the staff will sing to you lol

I really liked my experience here. The seating was like in there larger booths, and I didn't feel crushed like other KBBQ places. I was also close enough to the grill that I could reach the food. That has been a problem in the past. Ordering is through the app, which saves time. People were very fast, there were no robots for delivery. All of the meat was very fresh and delicious. The grill was very hot, so the food cooked quickly. I've had problems with that in the past. Hot pot was also very quick to heat. The server was very kind and went over everything with us. He went into detail about the dessert. My sister and her bf were adamant that the fruit punch was amazing, but they were out.

While I have a lack of photos from my visit, I don't have a lack of opinion. First off, the place has a decent parking lot. The entrance to the building honestly seemed a bit small and hidden in a sense. Once inside, it felt compact. No large waiting area. You are seated quickly, varying how busy they are. It feels like they're in a rush , and I really wish that somebody sat down with us to kind of help us figure out what we were doing. This happens to be my second time going there , and I have to say that i'm actually disappointed on the second time versus the first time. The first time overall was better service. I'd like to think better food but the portion sizes were different between both times. There is a 2 hour limit stay. Overall I do enjoy the ability to make your own hotpot. They have a section for making your own sause with a ton of labeled options, which I find very neat! A few other options for sides, which are alright. Not as impressed with those options. However, to mention something I was impressed with again, everything looked to be clean and well kept. Total cost was $80 for two people. I suggest you arrive with a large appetite to get your money's worth. At the end if the day, this place is a specialty and not a place you could frequent easy. I would only return to be able to share the experience with others.

Kpot always leaves me in a total food coma. Seriously, beware you will stink of smoke and meat after, but it's totally worth it. Never tried the hot pot yet, but I love that you can make your own sauce and go wild with flavors. Pork belly is hands down my favorite and their sides are sooo good too, like, you'll want seconds. It's a bit on the noisier side but the energy actually makes it kinda fun. Definitely a go-to spot I keep coming back to.

Hotpot and Korean BBQ are some of my favorite dinner experiences and Kpot was a great place to share that with my niece for her birthday. Food: 5/5 they offer various broths for hotpot including a distinct gluten free option. You order off an iPad and all items are clearly labeled (again with GF distinctions). This made it easy to navigate what proteins, veggies and noodles we wanted. They also had a sauce making station that allowed you to create dips or grab additional hotpot inclusions. Service: 5:5, Our server was knowledgeable, informative and did fantastic and ensuring we never ran out of broth or over boiled our broth during dinner. Business: 5/5, I felt pricing for just hot pot was reasonable at 23.99/pr and for $5 more- you could add Korean BBQ. I appreciated that going into the experience, it's clearly informed you get up to 2hrs but are welcome to finish your meal when you want. Overall- highly recommend!

Came here on two different occasions. First occasion was for the Kbbq during dinner. The place was packed but fortunately we had a reservation, so we did not have to wait long. The inside of the restaurant was clean and you could smell the meat grilling from all directions (in a good way!). Prices are reasonable at 32.99, and the meat quality is a hit. Ordering is done on a tablet they provide you. The meat selection was respectable and the grill was large enough to comfortable feed 5 people at a steady pace. The vegetables were good as well, the only gripe I had was that the portion size was inconsistent with how many "orders" you place. At the end they give you a choice of ice cream or an orange creamsicle. A month later I came here to try the Hot Pot during lunch. The place was again packed. AYCE hotpot for 21.99 is a great deal. I got the healthy herb broth which was nice and herby, and slightly rich tasting from the chicken base. My partner got the tom yum which was flavorful and had a nice punch of acidity like classic tom yum. The meat and veggies were standard. My favorite part of hot pot, the sauce bar, was a bit of a disappointment however. The staple condiments like chinese bbq sauce and sesame sauce were not stirred very well before being placed out, so it was like 80% oil and 20% of the actual sauce, so the sauces ended up tasting pretty oily. Thankfully the broths are flavorful enough we didn't need the sauce to enjoy the food. Overall would definitely come back for the kbbq, but not so much for the hot pot!

It's a good spot if you want KBBQ and the price is reasonable for all you can eat. Not a fan of their hotpot, but I enjoy their kbbq. They also serve raw oysters during dinner time. You get 3 pieces per person. Make sure you ask for an extra cup of water so you can rinse your oysters! Service is quick and servers are nice. Sometimes you can walk in but if you plan to go during dinner you definitely need to make a reservation! I just wish that their vents were bigger because it can get very smokey.

Kpot hits the spot!! They have tons of choices for the all you can eat hot pot. I like that it's also individual hot pots. The portions they give are legit and you can just keep ordering as you go via an iPad at the table. They have a DIY sauce bar for your hot pot, and some appetizers on the line included in the hot pot order. The server asked if we wanted ice cream at the end and we weren't sure if it was included at that point but we were so full we couldn't do it. I think the reason I knocked it down a star is because I have had better hot pot in Minneapolis (Le'Pot) that gives more broth and when I order the Szechuan spicy broth I expect spicyyyy which it was still good here but not the spicy I was looking for. But either way, we will be back. Friendly atmosphere and the atmosphere didn't feel cozy by any means but it got the job done haha.

I tried KPot for the first time yesterday. There was a roughly 30 minute wait for a Friday night, so be prepared. You don't have to wait in line, which is convenient. They text you when your spot is up. They have options for Korean BBQ or Hot Pot AYCE or you can do both for another $5. We went with the BbQ only option. I was impressed by the flavor of the marinades with the beef options. The Korean Galbi and bulgogi were especially tasty. Ordering straight from their iPad was a game changer! We had really great customer service from our server who was very attentive and accommodating to our requests. All the food came out quickly. I would highly recommend giving this place a try if you're into KBBQ. It was a great experience and excellent quality meats made it a place I must revisit.

A wonderful meal So many choices Meats veggies, sauces

Pros: I like how they have a full bar because we've been to similar places that didn't have a bar. I also like that they have lots of BBQ options. I also like how spacious the booths are. You can order your food from an iPad instead of waiting for your server to come back and check on you. I like how the spray is on the table for you to use; it makes you feel more in control of the cooking. Cons: Parking can be quite challenging as it's in a busy strip mall. The portions are a bit small. I don't like how you have to make your own sauces and they aren't pre-made, making people have to wait behind you. Also, it doesn't tell you how much of each to make the sauces you want to come out perfect. Lastly, when we ordered, we found that a lot of our food didn't come out at the same time, which made eating together a bit challenging. We did not do the hot pot; we only did Korean BBQ. Some of the meats we ordered had a sweetness to them that didn't go over well. Our server Eli was great, and I loved the ambiance, but the meat didn't really appeal to us. I'm glad we got to experience this.

Stopped by a few weeks ago on a weekend. It was pretty busy. They don't take reservations, but you can out your name in a waitlist when you get there. They have share a free parking lot with surrounding businesses. You have the option to do all you can eat hot pot, all you can eat Korean BBQ, or do both. Your choice has to be made at the beginning when checking in. Once seated, our server explained how to order. Service was fast and friendly. You would order on a tablet which is for each table. I tried the hot pot. The food was delicious! Would like to try again.

Ask the Community - KPOT Korean BBQ & Hot Pot

Are any of the broths for hot pot vegetarian? I noticed the menu showed spicy and gluten free, but not vegetarian? Normally I believe miso (and maybe tomato) base could be vegetarian.

There should be a few soup base that's vegetarian. Mushroom, tomato, healthy herbs. Ask the employees for details.

    Are there gluten free options?

Yes I recall seeing a gluten free broth. In addition, many of the vegetables and meat are fresh with no dressing or marinade. I would suggest staying away from any of the marinated or sauced items

The food is mostly good, although there is something missing still that could make this restaurant truly one of the best in the state. Still, it's a great night out, especially if you like Korean and/or Chinese food. Here's a rundown: The food: First and foremost, Minari has special menus to meet many dietary restrictions. Not just symbols on one menu, but different menus depending on your restrictions. That's amazing. We ordered off of the Dairy Free (DF) menu, which does include a lot of their dishes from the regular menu. The Szechuan Ribs were my favorite, they are exquisite. The KFC wings are good too, although they could have used a bit more sauce (I am used to Korean-style wings being pretty saucy). The pork jowl was good but did not have quite enough gojuchang flavor. The accompaniments that came with it were awesome, especially the sauces. The bonchon need some work; I would love to see more traditional bonchon, ours had a couple "fusion" type dishes that were a little too contemporary for us. The drinks: The Minari Old Fashioned was AWESOME, a great drink (and the rice cracker was great too). Highly recommend this. The service was some of the best in the metro. From entering (where the host stand will make sure you have appropriate menu(s)), to the server, who was perfectly attentive and very knowledgeable about every dish, including dietary issues, to the complimentary tea and birthday sparkling wine, I can't say enough about the service here. The only weird thing is the dim sum, I would actually just put the dim sum dishes on the menu and bring them out on demand. The ambiance was really nice, and the bathrooms were clean. The final thing I would say is that I think that Minari could benefit from making their Korean dishes a little bit more traditional...as I mentioned earlier, small touches like making the wings a bit "saucier," more gojuchang flavor on the dishes that feature it, and more traditional bonchon would all be great. Still, this is a phenomenal place to dine/drink in NE Minneapolis, and if you like Korean and Chinese food, you will not be disappointed!

I've always shopped at Dong Yang for groceries but have never had their food until now. The place…read moreis tucked in the back of the store, but it was definitely busy for a typical lunch time. I got the kimbap, sundubu-jjigae (spicy tofu stew with seafood), and haemul pajeon (seafood pancake). The kimbap is the best thing there is, and they also sell this to go at the register (I've had this multiple times and I think it's the best kimbap I've had). Despite being mostly veggies, the kimbap is deep in flavor and very scrumptious. The sundubu-jjigae was a hidden gem for me. I didn't think I would like tofu stew but holy clam this soup had so much umami from the seafood. The broth was not watered down at all and was full of flavor, and the seafood was plentiful and went perfectly with the rice. The only downside to this dish were the banchans, which were overall a bit underwhelming, especially the beansprouts. The seafood pancake was also just okay. It was thick and filled with seafood, but despite eating this right when it was finished cooking, it just wasn't as crispy as I would have liked (a good example of really good seafood pancake is at K-bop near the U of M). Overall, I enjoyed the food here and would definitely like to try some of their other dishes there!

Have been getting delicious Korean food from Dong Yang Deli for many years…read more The most recent visit was yesterday and I had an order of kimbap and some chapchae (took the rest of it home for a later meal). I think the prices for the dishes are reasonable priced and the food is great. The seating is a little bit limited and it's mostly self service since you find your seat after you get your food and clean up your table after you are done. Highly recommend checking out for yummy Korean food and doing some Asian grocery shopping afterwards.
