There really isn't much to say other than the people are pleasant, and the food is good. I enjoy stopping here on a cold day for some hot bigos. I have had a few kinds of their kielbasas, sausages, snacking sausages and cabbage stew at the Scotch Plains farmers market and I love the flavor of their kielbasas....I'm definitely stocking up before the end of the season (next week) for the winter...Much better taste than in the supermarkets...well worth the extra money!!! read more

if you know exactly what you want, get it and walk out. other than that your out of luck ! no one here speaks english. not even a little. took 30 minutes just to get pirogies fried up. but that was after 10 minutes of asking for them to be fried. the woman had no clue what we were saying and we were the only people in there. read more

Small deli and micro restaurant serving incredibly high quality Polish dishes. Great deli case, they let you sample anything. They have the BEST pierogi I have ever found outside of Poland or any major ethnic Polish neighborhood in NY or Chicago. The mushroom ones are par excellence. They are sold by the dozen and priced on a sliding scale depending on the fillings ranging from $6.00 to $9.00 per dozen. Somebody should franchise these things. read more

On a whim, decided to have lunch here with my 15 year-old son (tomorrow, he goes back to school). The deli is located in a small strip mall (laundromat next door) across the street from bungalow style apartments. My husband usually gets take out from here, but today, we decided to dine in for a change. The place is divided into two sections - a large deli area, and a small dining room with about five tables. The tables are set with white table cloths, with real dishes and glassware. The dining room looks like a setting our of a movie - Old style Europe. We ordered the Kielbasa sandwich ($5.95), cheese and potato Pirogi ($3.00), and two cabbage rolls ($4.95). The server/waitress all the dished into two plates, and served them with their delicious sauerkraut and mustard on the side. She also delighted us with a history of her family in Poland. She grew up in a small town with 40 people, three hours from Wausau. Lunch was leisurely and calming. Wish we had had a third person.. so we could have shared more dishes. Authentic Polish food at its best. Every time I walk in there I get hit by the heavenly smell and suddenly I'm back in my mom's house on Easter Sunday . They have all the traditional Polish food you would want, many flavors of perogies, as well as desert specialties that will probably kill you in the long run but you won't care. I'm very unhappy with Krakus Deli this year after standing in line for a half hour the only thing was ready was the kielbasa and babkas and they where in a box on the counter with my name on side of the box for a 9:30,10:00 Am pickup. The pierogies and stuff cabbage wasn't ready it was frozen. When I open the pierogies they where stuck together and wasn't pinch right. I order this stuff two weeks in advance and my wife printed everything out. They had the order wrong on the stuff cabbage. I don't know what happen to Krakus Deli this year. Half the order was going to the Sisters of St. Joseph they received the same stuff. Other years Krakus had your order ready and fresh. I'm really disappointed with them. I only gave them a two star this year . The last four years five star. I guess I'll go back to the Polish Kitchen at 324 River Drive Garfield NJ. read more

Krakus Deli is amazing! I love going there at least once every week. The poeple working there (Stvetlana, Grace, Barbara, and Dana) are always so nice, they are like family. I do not live in NJ but have shopped here 3 times to take things home. My first experience was wonderful. I got kielbasa, pierogi and stuffed cabbage. Was disappointed on the 2nd experience because when I got home, they gave me the wrong kielbasa. I ended up with a huge sausage type ring that did not have much flavor. Chalked it up to an expensive mistake. My third experience was less than a week ago. I asked to sample the kielbasa and the one that I tasted and absolutely loved was a "skinnyer" ring. I immediately told her that I loved it and wanted 2 rings. I walked back to get the pierogi and she rung me up. $80+! I left, headed home and unpacked my food and again I have 2 huge rings of "kielbasa". I cooked one and was very disappointed. I tasted the uncooked one and knew it wasn't the same one I tasted in the store. Very disappointing, I paid A LOT of money for this and we don't like it. read more
