    Spicy Chicken Shawarma
    Nette B.

I just want to try this new burger and shawarma place. Heard while in line that this is Ukrainian resto. The place looks nice. They have starry starry night design and there is tub in the corner. One menu for burgers and one side is shawarma. We ordered both. Hubby just want the cheeseburger and I ordered the spicy chicken wrap. The burger is decent in size. Nothing special on the taste. For me it is too much mustard taste. The bread is not good though. It is on the dry side. As for the shawarma, it is phenomenal! I love the garlic sauce that they put inside. It makes the whole sandwich juicy. Whaterver spices in the chicken is just perfect. The wrap has a crisp to it. It is spicy but not too much. It gives a kick to the sandwich. The wrap is huge so I was able to eat the other half the next day. The server is nice and decent time of wait to get your food. I will not go for the burger but definitely coming back for the wrap!

We ordered the chicken shawarma. It was so delicious. The Ukrainian Classic comes with chicken, cabbage, tomatoes, pickles, garlic sauce. The shawarma is enough for two people, but too good to share. The garlic sauce was so delicious. Friendly service and unique ambiance with lots of live plants and dance club music. All I wanna hear is untz-untz-untz-untz-untz-untz. DJ make the bass go boom, boom, boom, boom! We will be back.

I was a quite disappointed because we went on Saturday at 6:30pm and they were completely out of all pide, ezme, haydari, and the pickles so the menu was pretty limited. We ended up ordering fries as an appetizer since that's all they had. The entrees also said they come with bulgar and rice but we did not have any bulgar on our dish..it also said we should have roasted peppers and onions, which were not on our dish either. I assume they were out of all of those? We really wanted hummus but it was not on the menu. When we finished our meal, we noticed the table behind us had hummus... it would have been nice to know they had hummus. Also, we really wanted to try the manti but did not see it on the menu. At the end of the meal, my husband wanted a coffee and the waitress said there was no coffee and the machine was broke. Service was ok. Waitress forgot our drink. Not very attentive. Dining area is small but cute. They are planning to expand the dining area so there really isn't much of a market anymore. Prices are pretty high in comparison to most Turkish/middle eastern restaurants. They do give you yummy bread and Babaganoush. I want to try it again in hopes that other menu items are available.

The pistachio crumble latte is still one of my favorites -- creamy, flavorful, and comforting. If you prefer stronger coffee, I'd definitely recommend adding an extra shot. The pogacha with beef and the burek were both delicious, rich, and full of flavor. I also tried the pistachio cheesecake, and it was absolutely delicious -- just as good as I remembered. I was a little disappointed with the Dubai chocolate cheesecake this time though. It didn't even look the same as before, and the pistachio paste tasted less natural than I remembered. The service was good, everyone was friendly, and I'll definitely come back again.

We did start with appetizers including the saganaki, but it definitely had sat too long - it was super flavorful but way different than when they bring it out flaming. The hostess and desk staff were fantastic- called our host by name leaving, which was a nice touch. Our server was very funny and personal, but it was a little firm over function- I felt like he was using his personality as a distraction. A few "highlights" of our visit: Dishonesty: A server lied and said there was no kids' menu (which is clearly listed on their website) just to avoid a meal substitution. When I asked about ordering chicken tenders, the server told me they didn't have a kid's menu and were only making an "exception" for my daughter. I later found the full kids menu on their website. Instead of simply explaining an age policy, he chose to be dishonest and was visibly annoyed that I even asked. Being Ignored: It took 20 minutes and multiple people flagging down a server just to get one bottle of Coke. I asked the female waitress 3 times for the Coke and she repeatedly looked at me and ignored me. It took 20 minutes and 3 family members calling out to the server to get her attention. Disrespect: The hostess literally put her hand in my face when I politely asked for a to-go bag. I politely asked the hostess for a to-go bag, she actually put her hand in my face and told me to "hold on." When she finally returned, she mean mugs me and handed me the bag without a word even after I gave her an underserved thank you. If this were my party, I'd be demanding a refund. This place makes other local diners look like five-star establishments. Unbelievable and completely disappointing. Will never be returning.

The person behind the counter had a great energetic smile and was super nice. Ever though we were the only ones there, we still had about at 15 minute wait, which was fine. The bowl serving seemed kind of small- especially for being $13. The bowl also came with a small salad inside, but I was not a fan of the pickle that was cut up, but that's just personal preference for me. The falafels were crispy and tasty. And the hummus was good, fresh and homemade, and looked amazing, but while getting close to the bottom of it, I found a tiny blue spec mixed in the hummus. Of course it caught my attention and I removed it to inspect it more. Possible a piece of sponge??? Needless to say, it shouldn't have been in there and it ruined my experience with the hummus.
