I had the one of the most horrible experiences with Lecrecia from Haus of Royalty yesterday. She's…read moredone my hair 3 times before. Each time I was satisfied with my hair. She also did my daughter's hair once and her work was again satisfactory. She has trimmed me once and cut layers for me another time. She also trimmed my daughter's hair. I was pleased with her work each time. Yesterday, I was caught a bit off guard because I didn't notice the address for hause of Royalty had changed until the last minute. Anywho, I get there before the 10min grace period was up. However, Lecrecia had not arrived yet. This new location is filthy to the point I didn't even want to sit down. I was extremely uncomfortable but tried to remain calm. I didn't have time to find another stylist so last minute and its literally my only free day I had to get my hair done. I pushed through with the help of my consort calming me over the phone. Lecrecia had previously texted me that she was picking up food from the mall. I expected she would be back by the time I arrived since I ran about 10 minutes late. She walked in a little while after I arrived which was fine because the wait wasn't too long. However, she walked over to another lady and took her from under the dryer to take to her chair. After getting off of the phone, I texted Lecrecia that I was uncomfortable. She came out to ask me why and I told her that this space is not the vibe at all. There was not a clean surface, not even a clean looking surface in the entire suite. The floor was grimey, walls dusty, every station was dirty and full of trash, product and hair....even the ones that were not in use. Bags on the floor overflowing with product, hair and whatever else. The place could be nice but the people who work there are just nasty. Having 2 sons, I've been in a couple of questionable barber shops but this was by far the filthiest hair establishment I'd ever seen. Cree asked if I still wanted to get my hair done and I told her I came prepared to get my hair done and I'd like to just get it done and leave as soon as possible (I already knew I would never return to that location). She asked if I was sure because it didn't matter to her rather I stayed or not. My spirit was jolted when she said that but I went against my better judgment because of my upcoming schedule and my birth anniversary this coming Tuesday. I wish I had just waited until after she did my hair to complain about the new space because Cree treated me horribly. I was dissatisfied with my hair for the 1st time. My ends were frizzy and frayed. I'd been wearing my hair natural for a while so I mentioned to her that I'll need a trim. When she didn't trim, I bought her attention back to the ends, reminding her that I was unhappy with how my curls were coming out and that they need a trim. I asked to see the back but she didn't have a hand held mirror so I told her that I would try to use my phone. I was opening my phone to see if I could use it to see the back. Before I knew it, Cree was chopping off the ends of my curls. I was so in shock. She was cutting so fast that by the time I got the words out that she was cutting too much, the damage was already done. The last trim and cut I had from her and the one she did for my daughter was done with so much precision and care to the point she would cut a bit and then show me to see if i was o.k. with how much she cut. Therefore, I know this behavior was totally out of her character. I'd asked her to stay calm several times because I felt the heat coming off of her. She was highly agitated although she insisted she was fine which was the most scariest part because she maintained her composure and even forced a crooked smile while I was visibly upset about her chopping the ends of my curls off. That's some diabolical tish right there...all while she was listening to gospel music. I'd never seen this side of Cree. I left in a hurry. I'd always prepaid and pre-tipped my appointments so there was no reason for me to wait a second longer. I got in the car and cried. I texted her that we should talk when she calms down and sent her pics of what she did to my hair. Her response was in so many words were that she was calm but I shouldn't have gotten my hair done since I was uncomfortable and that I should find a cleaner place that would make me happy. She later apologized and said that she did the best she could. I informed her that I had to find a stylist last minute to fix the trim. I then sent her a pic of the last time she did my hair (which was beautiful so I know she didn't do her best). I told her that I accepted her apology but would like a refund on the prepaid service. She stopped responding to my text messages. I'm sick about it...the whole experience was traumatizing.

My husband went a couple weeks ago. He insists on a scissor cut with no clippers, and Suzanne (sp?) did an excellent job. He rarely is pleased so quickly with his haircuts so she definitely knows what she is doing and was so gracious and nice! That's why when I went to Roxy and got an excellent and handsome look for a reasonable price, I went back to see if she could repeat her execution. And she did. And she continues to do so - every time for 6 years. Always a great cut and always stylish. Roxy is also the coolest hair stylist I have ever met.
