The last thing we expected was to find yummy Hawker style restaurant in the RSL. Everything looked good on the menu. We settled on Beef rendang, Laksa and seasoned greens (with oyster sauce). All dishes were incredibly tasty but I did get food envy when spying the table next to me - the roti with chicken curry looked and smelled amazing. Definitely trying that dish next time! It arrived and it was beautiful. Wish we would have had it last year. It was piping hot, flakey on the outside and warm and soft on the inside. Neither of us could decide what to dip them in. The curry or the sambal. - Roti Kaya - roti stuffed with pandas and coconut. We opted for the savory dish versus the sweet dish and it also was served with curry sauce and sambal. It arrived right after the Roti Canai and was also warm and inviting. Could have been dessert. - Beef Satay with a Peanut Sauce - the dish was on the WOW factor. Some of the best beef satay we have ever had. Cooked through and almost like a jerky but very soft and not as chewy. We dipped in the peanut sauce that in itself could have been eaten with a spoon. We then wrapped some in the plain roti and dipped in the curry. Another winner. Service was great. Food arrived within a reasonable time.
