I tried to go shopping there on Sunday and there were no carts. I don't mean I had to hunt for one. I mean I was one of several people looking everywhere for a cart. Zero in the parking lot, zero in the shopping cart bay inside. To top it off, on my way back to the car I called my husband to tell him about it and some passing by employee must have overheard and shouted at me "So there's no carts, big deal!" Pretty soon Kroger is going to start saying "So there's no customers, big deal!" read more

There are some employees that are rude and mean and some are very nice polite people willing to help they have a wide verity of stuff I love the meat department it's very good quality stuff I live in Bunkie we have one store Lyons market and they are high as heck they get over people they are over priced if you are the elderly and have no way to go shopping elsewhere you are screwed so I go to Alexandria to shop and buy stuff I need i save so much money there read more

I'm a regular customer here because I live two miles away, I'm literally at Kroger every other day between the pharmacy, groceries and sushi bar that my family frequents. I see the same couple of smiling faces, mainly the security guard who works at night and a few baggers. The cashier's are very hit or miss so I usually go self checkout unless I need to purchase cigars for my husband, I am then left no choice but to interact with the strangeness or rudeness that entails, and 75% of time it's one of the other. This evening for example I patiently stood in line behind and instacart employee with three different orders for at least ten minutes. The register being initially used blinked out and we were all told to move to register 3. Several more minutes of waiting and I smiled and made a joke to the cashier that my order of 5 items was an easy one. She never bothered to acknowledge me or even so much as greet me or apologize for the wait or having to move lanes. I was not too concerned except that when I tried to let her know what cigars I needed to order she interrupted me and asked if I was still getting the cinnamon rolls I had left at the end of the counter and I said I was putting them back. She interrupted me again and told me to hand them to her. Third time I tried to tell her that I needed two packs of cigars she walked off with the cinnamon rolls and left me standing there talking to myself. Then she went to get the cigars and commented that was all she had, which I said was fine because that's what I had asked her for but she hadn't bothered listening to me for fear that a box of snack cakes would disappear in the 20 seconds she would need to get the rest of my order. I told her it was very rude to walk away while someone was speaking, especially since I had waited so patiently while she assisted the instacart worker and seemed very friendly with her. For no reason she was impatient and curt with me and even failed to say a word in response when I told her that she was very rude. She's lucky I didn't say it loudly enough so that the other annoyed customers who were piling up behind me could hear. Next time take your smoke break before the 6 pm rush Melanie, because you will be the cause of ppl stopping their spending money at your store bc there are 2 other grocery stores also two miles from my house that also have Starbucks and sushi bars inside. read more

This store is TERRIBLE! The cashiers are rude and don't realize it's the customers that keep them employed. They wear their fake eyelashes to look pretty but no matter what you do a bad attitude will always make you look ugly. The store needs to be cleaned from top to bottom. There are few times that I want to write a poor review, and this is one of them. My hopes are that a manager sees this review and orchestrates an overhaul at this Kroger location. There are a few very friendly employees that make visiting this location very enjoyable. Unfortunately, there are also a few who seem molested when asked to check out, about product or when they have to disengage from what they are doing to service a customer. Although unfriendly or poor customer service is an alarming issue, the biggest problem seems to be the lack of product on their shelves and their lack of care in the appearance of the store. Walking into the store there were no less than 20 carts scattered across the parking lot. Over the course of this last week as an example, the individual salads have been completely out. Bins are often empty as well, last week I counted 14 bins that were empty in the dry nut area. If I were the manager of this store I would be appalled. If I were the manager of the Krogers in this area I would have a heart to heart with all the employees as to acceptable standards of service and cleanliness. read more

Oh Kroger. You have some of the nicest and nastiest stores out there. I enjoyed this extremely spruced up Kroger. The had an amazing produce section as well as natural/organic product selection. I may have spent a bit much, but bought all extremely healthy things for have for breakfast and lunch the 3 days I'm in town. I was extremely impressed with the Starbucks, Deli, and Sushi counters inside as well. Plus they had a nice little section of chilled wines. Bonus! They have an on-site gas station read more

Kroger is my "go to" store and has been for years. Most times I find everything I need....and MORE! Most employees/cashiers are very pleasant. What I find disturbing is the employees in the store that basically will run over you without speaking or saying "excuse me". At one point I thought of telling a manager but then one of the managers did the same thing.....stepped right in front of me as if I weren't there. Also.... why not train your employees to pick up trash when they see it. Actually saw one young guy picking up carts who took papers out of one and threw them on the ground! read more

This Kroger store was completely rebuilt (within maybe the last year or so). It's now a Kroger Signature store. I am thoroughly impressed! I rarely shopped at the old Kroger - I now rarely shop anywhere else. There's a full-service in-house florist, a deli and bakery, and a small Starbucks. The highlight for me, though, is the incredible selection of natural and organic items. I can finally find organic produce, dairy, cereals, frozen foods, etc. locally. That was practically impossible a year ago. read more

They're clean on the exterior but I have worked there and some of the things in the back are disgusting! If you get cheese that's on sale it probably had mold on it. They will do anything to earn money. The floral department raises prices on arrangements they do just to get more money. As in health codes. I don't know how they pass anything. read more

I recently moved to Alexandria and was told the Kroger's on MacArthur was good. Not so; I was there on Saturday afternoon and half of the produce was gone and the few that remained had flies around it. This was my second and last trip there. The eggs were not stacked well and half were broken. It's not clean, offers poor quality in produce and the prices are high. The Kroger company should be ashamed of such poor standards. read more

This Kroger is a godsend. I drive 40minutes to get to it every week because the selection where is live is atrocious. It's beautifully kept up and the produce selection is great! I believe they get new trucks in on Tuesday. They have people making sushi, SO tasty, and a wide variety of all their products. I can always find what I'm looking for and usually a little bit more keep up the good work Kroger! read more

This place is GREAT! Not your average Kroger. Lets be straight forward, the prices are higher than everywhere else, BUT... the produce, meat, and sea food is FAR superior than everywhere else in Alexandria. We just moved here from San Diego and sea food and meat are how we rate supermarkets. It took us a few weeks to find this place but we will not go anywhere else. Produce is the best around (especially since farmers markets are hard to come by around here). They have a fresh sushi station (which is great), and a red box out front. Good place to go if you live on Jackson Street. The prices are a little higher than Wal-Mart or Mac's, but there is a wider selection of food, including deli products and desserts (they have fantastic bakery). There's also a good selection of shrimp, fruits and veggies, as well as organic foods and a nice little Starbucks. read more

From the selection of super markets in Central LA most of my shopping is done @ Krogers. I like their 10 cents off a gallon plan @ the gas pumps out front. For selection & high end products they can't be beat. Get their Kroger's Card for additional savings which works w/the gas pumps & they'll also send you periodic coupons for savings. They have a nice selection in liquors but when it comes to wine Albertsons has a larger selection @ lower prices. read more
