Ordered takeout recently and wanted to try their fried pickles. Save your money! These were awful. Inexcusable that they would even send these my way. It was like eating stale, old pickles with crispy oily chips on the side. The batter had completely separated from the pickle itself. They should have made me a new order. For what they charge ($9) they need to do better. Their burgers are OK, I had the veggie burger. French fries were good. But they really need to work on those fried pickles and not send out such a horrible product. read more

We took a family of 13 to Kroll's West in Green Bay and had a fantastic time. The place has a historic mid-century vibe that feels classic and welcoming. The burgers are amazing -- juicy, flavorful, and exactly what people rave about as a Green Bay staple. The drinks are excellent, and the prices are honest to goodness great, which makes it easy to feed a big group without stress. Made a visit after not having gone in years and it was exactly as I remembered. I noticed they updated the outside overhead parking awns and front door which made me curious to see the inside but it was still the same everything lol Lots of different kinds of seating, still same old cigarette smell, only a smidge less since they don't allow it anymore. Service was great. Waitress was so nice and made sure we had everything we needed. Food was just okay. Cheese curds were delicious for sure. I also got a cheeseburger and that wasn't so great. Meat more on thin side and just didnt have much flavor at all. I got lettuce, mayo, pickles, ketchup, and fried onions on it. Didn't help much flavor wise. Visited here a few hours before a preseason game. We knew to come prepared with cash only but didn't realize that the food is prepared before hand and given to you within a few seconds. We both had burgers and ordered cheese curds, jalapeño poppers, and fries. Burgers were horrible with crusty buns that had become crispy because they sat so long in some type of heated contraption. Fries were fine. Jalapeño poppers were creamy. Cheese curds were not served with anything. No buttery flavor or even a cheese flavor. So bland and not at all like any cheese curd I've ever had. There was a band and lots of opportunities for purchasing Packer gear. Not sure what it's like on non game days but after paying way too much money for old, flavorless food, we probably won't try it again. read more

A small group of us walked from our hotel to the area early before the Packers game. We arrive just before the band started to play and enjoyed a few cocktails before we entered the stadium. The band was great. The drinks were great and the service staff was super friendly. They are cash only on game days so plan ahead however they do have several ATMs around the property. With a four star average, I was a little skeptical, but after reading several articles recommending Kroll's West for their butter burger, I had to give it a shot and I'm glad I did. Within 15 to 20 minutes of walking in, I already had my food. The process was quick and smooth. You seat yourself and use the button on the wall to get service, which I thought was a fun old-school touch. The staff was friendly and the western-style interior gave it a cozy vibe. The location is also iconic, sitting right across from Lambeau Field, which made the visit even cooler as I passed through Green Bay. For about $16, I got a phenomenal double cheeseburger, butter burger style, and it absolutely hit the spot. Overall, a great experience and worth the stop. This place was very interesting. My husband had to try it such a huge Green Bay fan. It's right across from the stadium. Menus are already on the table. It is seat yourself so you can sit anyway. When you're ready to order food you just push a button in your booth. The waitress comes and takes your order. I was really feeling soup so I wanted to get the chicken and dumpling soup as my side and got a wrap so I could have some thing lighter. My husband chose to get the cheeseburger because that's what everybody said he should get it is a butter burger if you've never had a must try it taste like one of the best homemade Burgers I've ever had! read more

Wow! I see that I'm not the only person giving this restaurant such a low rating. The 1st issue that I had was when my party (x3 people) went in and noticed that there were many (more than 6) tables that still had the plates from previous patrons still sitting on the tables. This was Monday, October 13 around 2:30 pm, when in my opinion there should have been plenty of clean tables. There wasn't a mass exodus of cars leaving the parking lot at that the time when we went in. Honestly, I think it was just lazya** wait staff!!! Entering a eating establishment and see the uncleaned tables would normally cause me to leave as quickly as I entered, but because I was visiting Green Bay and this restaurant for the 1st time ever, I decided to stay. The 2nd issue is the waitress who had absolutely no personality whatsoever, as if she didn't like her job!!! As wait staff you should at least be able to have a conversation with the people that will be giving you a tip or not! The other wait staff was able to pickup where she failed! Lastly, the food wasn't anything special and the chili was Cincinnati style which I didn't find out until I was eating it and noodles appeared on the bottom of the cup. I've been going to Krolls West my entire life, always lived within a mile or less. Always kept going back because things were great. Prices went up but I always thought it was worth it. Lately it's changed. I don't know if it's under new management or what. Haven't seen any of the original staff that I've known for 20+ years. Service is been bad the last two visits. I had to clear out table of five after we were done eating after over 30 minutes of being done eating. And it was dead in there. This place is iconic in the Green Bay Area. It is located right across from Lambeau Field. It is kinda an old school diner meets supper club meets bar. It has a button you push at your table that lights up for service. The server comes over to take your order. You order your food and drinks and away you go. I ordered a grasshopper (ice cream in the drink and everything) and my partner ordered the Brandy Alexander. We had cheese curds, buttered popcorn in a skillet and chips and cheese. My husband and I dined there last week and were very disappointed and angry. This used to be one of my favorite hangouts but I know with certainty that we will not come here again. The food quality has greatly declined and the prices were extremely over inflated. Been coming here for 4+ decades and this time it was just awful. We sat at a table in the bar area, not overly busy and literally saw one waitress come out and wait on another table, NEVER making eye contact with us. We sat there for a 1/2 hour, then moved to the bar, where again, the bar tender didn't even look up from her cash register to acknowledge us. After 10 minutes we stood up, put our coats on, still no one looked at us, and walked out. How absolutely sad what this place has become. I no longer live in Wisconsin but hit Krolls whenever I'm in Green Bay. I waited 4 years post-covid to write this ... but yes they have lost a star. Nothing has changed overall, it's just that the food doesn't taste quite as good as it used too. The service is a tad off, the drinks a tad weak, the place a little rough around the edges, even the lighting seems dimmed. I've always been a fan of Krolls ... always will be! We were staying at a hotel across the street and had heard a lot about Kroll's East so we decided to try Kroll's West since it was a short walk away. The dining room was dated but clean. The service was friendly. The tables have buzzers so you buzz when you want service. I decided to give the burger a try. It reminded me of a McDonalds hamburger- ketchup, pickles and onions - plus the addition of a dollop of butter. It was a little too much butter for me so I ended up removing what hadn't melted already. It was a decent burger. The fries were an add on and they weren't bad either. The restaurant takes credit cards but passes on a 3.25% fee to the customer. Cash is the way to avoid the fee. We are glad we gave Kroll's a try. It was a decent meal for a fair price. read more

Came here before a Bears packers game and it was packed. Luckily they're menu is small and they turn the TVs off on game day so people can get their food, eat, and get out. There was a big line and I thought it would be at least an hour wait, but I got a table in like 5 minutes The service is quick and efficient. I ordered a double cheeseburger and cheese curds and we got our food very fast. They do make you pay once your food is delivered, which is like of unsanitary, since it's cash only. Came for dinner on Tuesday night, someone came to take our drink order and never came back. Bartender was kind enough to ask the whole table area if they were waiting on these drinks, as the server never picked them up. Sat there until a new server came and tried to take drink order again. Waited 1 hour and 20 minutes for food. There was 1 other table of people... walk into the women's bathroom and it smells like someone just lit up something. Never seen employees take so long to clean up dirty tables from diners earlier in the day.. we were surrounded by messy tables the whole time, with a few young female employees moving at a snails pace to do anything. Unfortunately, slow service (2 hours waiting for food) poor quality (stall buns, butter burgers without butter, and a price higher than Kroll's East Wet $7 per burger, East $4). made this dining experience one of the worst ever.
