My favorite is still that Tofu that looks like an omelette but it's really a Tofu perfectly prepared and flavorful. Gotta shout out their chicken. Huge chunks of deep fried chicken sauced with their special sauce. Wonderful. Don't forget about their sushi, the Maki stands out from the rest (truly a great classic dish). I loved coming here as a child and would come here often growing up even as an adult. This was the place to go for a quick bento pick-up. There are no tables for sitting inside. It's a small shop with bentos on the shelf and some additonal items for sale. It's basically the items in the bento which you can buy separately and they have regular musubis and chicken musubis as well. I remember the prices were $5 for a small bento and $6.25 for a large bento. Of course prices went up as the years passed which is understandable. The bentos are $11 for a small bento and $13 for a large bento. I was a bit disappointed as the chicken was really tough to eat and there was not much flavor like in remembered in the past Everything still tasted the same which I was glad. There are several stalls in the front for parking. It's good to go as early as possible because they do run out of bentos. Is it the best bento in all of O'ahu? well, it's definitely not as good as it used to be BUT I think if you ever remembered Kay, you go for her memory and because it's one of the only places you can get real food at 5am. The workers are still absolutely wonderful and they do try to get you in and out as fast as they can. I normally only get the small bento (they do have a Large, and now, ala carte). I enjoy the sushi and hotdog more than the chicken. It's always a bit too cold and soggy for me but I'm still more than satisfied with it. It is still cash only so keep that in mind.. and they don't serve drinks but 7-11 is across the street if you need. read more

1 star I called at 9:00am to place a bento order and was asked what time I'd pick it up. I said I would be there by 10:00am (which is within the posted business hours on your website). The woman on the phone said you were almost sold out, so I asked her to call me if she couldn't hold my order. She agreed. I arrived at 10:00am to find a "CLOSED" sign out, the door wide open, no one in sight, and no bentos on hold. I never received a phone call. I had driven halfway around the island for this order. This is poor communication and terrible customer service. If you're nearly sold out, call the customer and update your website hours if they're not accurate. At the very least, honor hold requests or follow up by phone so people don't waste time (and gas). Disappointed and won't be returning unless this is addressed. read more

Slightly different from the last time over 5 yrs ago... I had to have my car serviced at the nearby Servco, so I decided to stop by here to get a small bento for brunch. The last time I had it was 5+ years ago ...and it was really good back then, so why not get one now if I'm already in the area? Price has increased to $10 for the small bento, but it still has the 3 pcs fried chicken, musubi, 1 piece Maki sushi, another piece sushi, 1/2 hot dog, and egg. Somehow, the chicken skin isn't as crispy as I remember, even though I picked this bento up relatively early at 730 am ish. Not as much of the garlic/Korean sauce too, so it wasn't as flavorful as I remember it. So it is *okay* for the price. A bit step down in taste (but sushi was fine). They also had their sushi near the register. My Husband and I each grab a small bento. We took it home to eat and a couple bites into his food, I notice he suddenly stops eating and I ask him why. He tells me he found a bug lodged in his chicken. So I lose my appetite ad well and tossed our food. Mine seemed fine but the chicken was hard, taste was ok, and I don't really like cold food so even if my Husband wouldn't have found that bug, I would've eaten the same amount. I used to like to come to this mom and pop place for their bento's. It was really reasonable and the chicken was so tasty. I haven't been here for a long time because they started overcooking their chicken and it hardly had any taste. Today, since we were in Waipahu, we decided to give them another try. The price went up recently to $10 for the small bento and $13 for the large. The chicken wasn't overcooked but again, not enough sauce so no garlic/shoyu taste...didn't care for it. I enjoyed the musubi and the 2 sushi's more than the chicken, hotdog and tofu...so sad. They used to have a small piece of corn beef hash included in the bento but not anymore. That hash used to have more potato with a little corn beef but I still liked it...again, so sad. FYI: They only accept CASH. Traditional "mom & pop" store. What's great about it is they only focus on two sizes of bentos. Nothing really to see on the outside, but it's what's on the inside that counts! I called ahead to place a small order, just in case. I was happy that I didn't get the " just come, we have plenty" response like other places. I walked in and was warmly greeted by a friendly young man and my order was ready and waiting. Great service!! They open very early and their bentos do not seem to have shrunk in size as other places. The price has gone up, but it's still a good deal. What I liked was that they had some inari( cone sushi) that you could buy on the side.
