I didn't give myself enough time, so I wasn't able to walk the whole garden. I was slightly lost and just out of sorts. Not really signage other then exit this way signs. I wasn't to find the cool spots but didn't know how to get there, so with my time frame I had to walk back to my car. I was scared of getting lost and being late to my next activity.

Beautiful blooming day at the garden. It was a lovely tour. This 20 acre garden is a jewel in Seattle.

Amazing free Japanese garden not far from Sea Tac in the Rainier Beach neighborhood. There is an official one that was closed that day (Monday) but my cousin says this one is better. My wife loves it too and her aunt used to live nearby but she already flew back so it was just me, my mom, and cousin.

Had a great time walking around here in the rain & exploring all the different plants.

Kubota Garden is actually a really nice, free garden. From the outside, it doesn't look that big but it's decently sized. The garden itself is beautiful and is great for a nice afternoon stroll. Overall, I'd recommend checking this out! They also have a decently sized parking lot which is a plus as well.

Had a relaxing afternoon stroll with a co-worker and this place did not disappoint. There is ample parking and just heed the signs reminding not to leave valuables in your car. This is located in a residential area and it's pretty quiet but it is open to the public so take precaution. There were signs announcing some activities occuring on weekends. The surroundings are well-maintained and clean. We wished there were more signs to provide directions. The different layers of trees, shrubs, and bushes, lend a monochromatic green palette as a backdrop. A splash of color here and there is rendered beautifully by occasional flowering plants, or a red bridge over a koi pond, or a metal bell on display, or a calming waterfall. All of these sights and sounds make for a perfect end to a weeklong work trip.

Beautiful place to visit it's very peaceful. The small trails were very well kept and the little ponds were great.

This is a beautiful hidden gem- lovely trails and absolutely incredible plants and trees. It is so well- maintained! It's a great place to snap photos for your Christmas card, or practice your photography. Check out Kubota Garden, it's worth it!

Beautiful park-like gardens. Dog friendly with a beautiful meadow and water features. We wish that we had visited at the beginning of May. Most of the flowers had already lost their bloom. We will definitely visit again!

Some of the koi you will encounter as you gaze into the ponds and pools.

I have to bump up a star for the Kubota Garden. It's been several years since I was last here and I think I picked a perfect time to come here as many Rhododendrons were in bloom to enhance the lay out of the gardens. Seems like it depends on what time of year you go and what blossoms you may see but that is always a plus if you come here in the late spring and early summer. Not that the gardens are unattractive without anything flowering but it just makes the experience all the more beautiful. I love the Japanese style bridges and the koi. The waterfalls are very tranquil and a feast for the eyes. Admission is free so that is definitely something to utilize as the Kubota Gardens are far from your typical parks. Despite quite a few visitors coming here you can still get the feeling of solitude walking the paths at certain moments.

What a beautiful garden! Definitely come during the spring time to see all of the blooms. If you love plum blossoms as much as me, you will be fawning at every tree! This garden is very easy to get lost in. It was much bigger than expected. My friend and I got lost very easily. Try to find the orange "exit" signs or use a map to remember where the parking lot is!

Ask the Community - Kubota Garden

    Is this place wheelchair accessible?

Yes, there are a couple of parking spots for the disabled and it is wheelchair friendly.

Is it lit up at night?

We strongly encourage visiting Kubota before dusk, since supplemental lighting is not yet available in this park.

    Are dogs allowed?

Yes. But they must be on-leash, stay on the path, out of shrub beds and ponds.

Parking is there pay to park ? What to expect?

I don't recall having to pay but it is a small lot so expect that.

    Is it Stroller friendly?

The path is mostly dirt/gravel. The path is wide enough for strollers but might be a bit tough to navigate.

When is the best time to visit this garden?

If you mean during the day? I would not got when it is too hot I went in August and we were so hot we didn't get to sit and just enjoy the garden. I would recommend going before raining season as there is not much cover.

Are there picnic tables? Would you recommend this as a place to take guests that are new to the city?

There are not picnic tables. But there are benches. This is an incredible place to take guests that are new to the city. Enjoy!

We were completely blown away by what we saw when we arrived at our appointed time to visit. The Spheres comprises a trio on connected glass domes, located in the center of Amazon-occupied office towers in Downtown Seattle. The Spheres opened in 2018 by Jeff Bezos for his employees. They are only open to the public for free on two Saturdays of each month. The structure was designed by American architecture firm NBBJ. They serve as an employee lounge and workspace. The Spheres are a fully functioning, self-contained ecosystem - a greenhouse with more than 40,000 different varieties of plants from all over the world. It is built on a concrete foundation, using 620 tons of steel. The structures are connected in an open-plan indoor area filled with numerous exotic plants. The most striking feature inside the Amazon Spheres is a 4,000 square foot Canyon Living Wall. It stands 62 feet tall and 50 feet wide. A path winds up four stories across a suspension bridge to a Bird's Nest meeting area. During the day the temperature inside is in the mid 70's with 60% humidity. At night, it drops to 55 degrees with 85% humidity. The highest of the three Amazon Spheres is 90-meters tall. The catalans at the Amazon Spheres contain an incredible 2,643 panels of glass, making the whole structure visible from the outside thus, creating a clear view on the inside. There's also a cafe with treats and coffee. They also offer free tours. We found The Spheres to be a serene and comforting place to visit. The place was amazing!
