Should you indulge? There is only one answer: Oui! Everything from bread to dessert was perfect. The fish dishes were true stand-outs, especially the salmon soup. The French fries were superb, light and crisp yet hearty enough to stand up to the divine sauces. The asparagus was of the white variety and delicious. People here know how to enjoy dinner as has been said many times before. My dinner took 2 hours and there were families that were there before I got there and were still there after I left. Mindful eating is the culture here, quality not quantity. Merci, danke schoen and to the lovely waitress who only got a $20 American tip because I had no euros ( it's a long story but you can blame Icelandair) and the credit card bills here don't allow you to add a tip... The first positive sign was the simple fact that they were open at 10 in the morning in the middle of the week, as indicated by the super friendly server when I walked up and asked. I then ordered an appetizer and one of the gourmet coffees and was not only blown away by how well presented and made everything was but also they brought a chunk of fresh baguette with butter. I have occasion to be in this area about once a week and have traveled pretty much all of the cafés in the Square, and this one is overall top one or two. If you come here as a tourist and are looking for a place to eat the amount of café choices can be overwhelming, but come here first.

The food is flavorful and has a french flair to it. Being a small restaurant it's a little cramped especially for the large crowd of diners I was with. We all managed to fit in though and enjoyed each others company, the restaurant and the food. I had the entrecote and a couple of beers with it. It was quite good. I finished with the creme brulee and a cup of coffee. They are also pleasantly dog friendly was able to accompany us.
