I'm still not sure how to describe this place except to state that it's something of a hybrid between an arts center and a shopping mall. At the same time, it really gives you a concentrated flavor of the Swedish modern design style most of us know only through trips to Ikea. It stands in a central area of Stockholm south of Sergels torg where the big, elliptical plaza sits with the geometric, black-and-white triangle design, a most arresting sight seen from the building's windows (photo: http://bit.ly/2aFTOud). If neither big Viking ships nor an ABBA tribute is your cup of tea, then I'd say this is a good place to chill during the day. A good portion of the center is devoted to performance venues like the Stockholm City Theatre, the Hörsalen lecture hall or the more club-like Kilen where young stand-up comedians perform. On the fourth floor is a children's library called Rum för Barn, where kids can hang and read books or listen to storytellers on kid-friendly couches. There's also a comic book library called Serieteket. I went for the grand opening of Swedish Hip Hop FolkMusik2punkt0 which lasts until January 2018. The exhibit was neat and they had Ladies Love HipHop DJing the opening party. Cappuccino was necessary because I'd toured Stockholm the whole day, it was tasty. The rooftop cafe has a terrace but he view isn't great plus the entire area and plaza down below is under construction, I think they are expanding the metro. The Culture House is right near T Centralen / Central Station and lots of good shopping. There's an H&M Home store nearby. The event space is nice and great for this type of event. read more

Kulturhuset is the culture, shopping and busiest place in the central of the city. It is quite difficult to miss because of its location. I was just going around the shopping area in my first day visiting the town, without noticed, I was already here, this place is really busy, lots of people, cars, buses and shops. I could find many well-known brands and some local brands here as well. In the middle of the place has this simple and glass obelisk, which called Kristall - vertikal accent i glas och stål ( which means Crystal - vertical accent in glass and steel), in the middle of the fountain. It look really great at night. The party was a bit pity for me was that there were couple areas in construction, so it did look a bit messy. Overall, as one of the symbols of the city, I think this place is great to be and walk around. There are many different events or exhibitions held from time to time. read more

This place is really cool. There are a lot of free things to do here. Free art exhibits, library/workshop (you can make jewelry or button pins and more! They even have little sewing machines.), marionette shows and plays. There's a place to eat or have a fika. Tourist information is next door (facing out of the main building: it's to your right). read more
