Around this location are two other convenient store gas stations. This one won out due to it being a later lunch time and sorry to say the other locations have been letting us down. Apparently hubby has had a few stops for lunch in Kwik Star. He gave me the walk through of all their options. They have a really large selection of premade salads and cold options and then a really nice selection of hot meals as well. Everything was clean and well lit. Lots of options out on display. For $9.99 we got an 8 pieces chicken tenders. Got a couple fountain drinks which consisted of black berry lemonade and an Arnold Palmer. Took our selection back out to the vehicle, We picked up a couple different sauces, but only ended up using one. Got my little fingers on a chicken tender and my jaw dropped. This one piece I picked up was no joke. She thick! As my husband devoured a couple of these monsters, I filled up on ONE! We enjoyed what we had and brought the rest home. I will not have a problem stopping at this chain in the future to try other things they have.

You are about an hour away from Omaha to the west and one hour away from Des Moines to the east. The location is not remote, with fast food restaurants nearby and another gas station across the street. I will remember this pit stop the next time I head east towards Des Moines if I need to rest break.

Things to know: * Easy access off of I-235. * This location has the new coffee beverage on tap stations. These are nice, when they work. Every other stop I make the machines are out of order. I hope to see a reduction of this headache as they continue to get the maintenance sorted out.
