The kimchi did add heat but still could not mask the missing pork flavour. This place was fine in a pinch but not somewhere I would make an effort to go to regularly.

Also they don't carry other izakaya staples such as tempayaki sticks nor does it have any of the festive menu combos that Japanese izakaya are known for. Considering sushi and japanese food in London is terrible for the most part, this place is a bit refreshing but not good enough for me to rate higher than three stars. The people getting real sushi seemed to be enjoying it. We also had a miso- beef tendon, which was on the specials menu. That was fabulous, super tender and flavorful. Overall they seem to do especially well at broths and sauces. The atmosphere is relaxed and pleasant with nice lighting and high ceilings.
