This review is for a delivery order. Pictures attached are for Beef with Broccoli, King Pao chicken, egg flower soup and a small order of lo mein. Overall I'm satisfied and I'd order again from this location. This is our first try with this restaurant and we live close enough to have the option of robot delivery. All the food arrive hot! That's a treat! The beef and broccoli dish was tasty, but it's not a dish that's good to reheat since the meat will get tough. The brocolli was still nice and crisp. My favourite was the egg lower soup, delicious although it might be on the salty side for some. The lo mein to me was standard but reheats well and just add more soy sauce and it's tasty. The kp chicken was also flavourful and worth getting again.

Nice staff-friendly and efficient. The food is solidly good especially since WeHo lacks the truly exceptional Chinese food found in the SGV. But Kung Pao Bistro comes close enough to hitting the spot for me.

I've been going to Kung Pao Bistro since they opened in early 2000s. They've always had consistently very good food, and still do. The service from some employees and especially management over the years has been inconsistent. Ive had a few genuinely rude service experiences over the years. The reason I'm removing a star, is because the portions have continued to get smaller and smaller. It started with different packaging. It was noticebly less food but looked full in the smaller packaging. Ive been ordering here at least once a week for years, so Im pretty familiar with their portion sizes and packaging. I ordered my usual a few nights ago and the portions shrunk again. It *felt* lighter. When I opened it, I could actually see the bottom of the Firecracker chicken container and see that the portion had shrunk a little more again. Then I opened the white rice. It's usually full and packed to the top lid. This time it was not. Bottom line: Their food is very good. I order it often. The portions are starting to not be worth the price though. Side note: they have a patio where you used to be able to eat outside. Since covid, they removed the tables. They don't allow outdoor eating anymore. The actually put signs up stating this.

Why did it take me so long to try this place!?! This place dominates on deliveries so the ambiance is minimalist. Many years ago when I was doing deliveries I would pick up from here frequently, as I lived within walking distance of this place. Maximum Facepalm on not trying it until nearly a decade later! Recently my friend offered to treat me to an early dinner (Hit'n Up That Happy Hour) and they suggested Kung Pao Bistro. I had no idea they had a huge dedicated vegan section with a ton of options! I settled on the Vegan Wontons in Sesame Hot Sauce. My friend got the Egg Flower Soup, Cashew Chicken with a side of brown rice. The food came out within 10min and upon the first bite I regretted all times I didn't eat here! I was missing out, my bad! The sauce was flavorful a little sweet and a touch of spice! It's like a rich creamy peanut sauce. The wontons were stuffed with a mock meat that had a great taste and texture. This was delightful and I devoured it! The portions are generous and worth the price! The service is laid back but in a good way not pretentious not lazy it was comfortable and just right. Now that I live a ways away I will need to come here more LOL

Orange chicken. Skin peeled and fell apart. No crunch. Bad.

Took over two hours for my 3 basic item order to be ready . I know it's Christmas Eve, but the restaurant was Ill prepared to take on the heavy traffic ! Worst yet, they offered me no refund and I'll have to do a chargeback with my credit card company. This is fraud!!! They're baiting customers to cancel and still charge them because they refuse to staff up! Nice grift you guys got going there !!!!

I am obsessed with their vegetarian/vegan options! Everything I've had from here so far is delicious. I highly recommend the vegan general chows. It's next to a Whole Foods so there is plenty of parking. I ordered to go so I didn't stay inside, but it was nice and cozy inside and they had a cute patio area as well. The server who took my order was friendly and kind, and the food came out quickly. 10/10

The dining room is not very attractive (exposed storage, broken lamps) but the food is great. They have a happy hour food menu, too!

Original review (1/19/19). They should change their name to "As a meat eater I didn't expect to like fake chicken and beef but this stuff was good and everything was super flavorful" because as a meat eater I didn't expect to like fake chicken and beef but this stuff was good and everything was super flavorful. Update: The dining room isn't very attractive. With these prices, they could make it a nice dining experience, just a little cozier or swankier, but it's got the ambiance of a strip mall donut shop, with broken lamps and exposed storage. However, the food is great (especially for vegetarians) and they have a killer happy hour food menu.

All their weekday lunch specials come with hot & sour soup and an egg roll. I had to get their signature spicy orange chicken which is tangy and perfectly crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside. It's seriously such a great deal with the amount they give you. Even their dim sum items are discounted during lunch too so I got all my favorites like shumai, radish cakes, green onion pancakes, string beans, and even the rainbow xiaolongbao sampler which is basically Russian roulette for you to guess the flavor of each. But the real sleeper on the menu are the sweet & spicy corn ribs. Love the nod to the Asian taste profile, and it's sooo satisfying to eat! Thanks for reading! ^-^

I've been coming here for the past two years, and their quality is stayed consistently high, if not even improving! They also have an amazing cocktail menu (which is more unusual for dim sum spots) and weekday lunch special menu from 12-3 PM, which features select dim sum and traditional Chinese dish combos at VERY affordable prices (all under $20). Honestly, everything I've tried on every visit has been AMAZING, but I highly recommend asking your waiter for recommendations and specials, since I've been able to try so many new dishes that I probably wouldn't have ever ordered. We had the veg spring rolls which were crisp and filled with a good portion of veggie, and were not greasy. The mu shu duck was really good and came with 4 pancakes. I'd like to try their mu shu chicken next time. The fried rice with chicken and shrimp (and no pork on request) had several large shrimp and pineapple. It was not overly salty and I actually added a little soy sauce to spice it up a bit. The chicken with veg was the least favorite. This will definitely be my go to place for take out.

The restaurant was bright and clean, and as I looked over the menu, my stomach growled even louder. A friendly gentleman came in and stood near us, then began chatting with my boyfriend and me; he told us about their awesome lunch specials and said he's eaten here many times. Upon his recommendations we got one of orange chicken and one broccoli with beef - two classic Chinese dishes - can't go wrong! We ordered our food to go and the smell was driving me wild on the ride home. The orange chicken was perfect - not too sweet and the batter had the perfect crunch. My BF enjoyed the broccoli with beef and shared some with me. We were very pleased with our meals and definitely recommended Chef Ming's! Would definitely eat here again!

It was a but busy when we got there but luckily we got seared pretty shortly after arrival. We originally wanted to sit at the bar, but opted for a table for less wait time. When first looking at the menu we were shocked by the prices. I knew immediately i wanted to get the hui tou potstikers with pork and noodles. We ended up adding on the hongkong style wontons too. To my suprise the wontons arrived in a delicious and warm broth, keeping them perfectly moist and plump. The broth was so delicious even on a hot day, tasting faintly of sesame and scallion. Despite both dishes being pork they were so different and equally amazing in flavor. The pan fried potstikers which were CRISPED TO PERFECTION especially reminded me of black bean shortribs that you get from dimsum, fatty but hearty and had me wanting more and more each bite. The minced pork noodles were to no suprise, so good. Noodles tasted fresh, the sauce was umami with mushrooms and pork. While im not the biggest fan of mushrooms, i still ate it up. I feel it would be so good with some picked cabbage too to complement the saltiness. Most notable thing... THAT CHILI OIL. We probably used almost half the jar left at the table. It wasnt spicy at all, but it had this flavor that i genuinely have never tasted before. The texture of the chilli and sesame and the nutty flavor had me in awe. Enough to take two jars home... i would do it again. Servers were so quick, made sure everything we needed was at the table. Regardless of the crowd we were met with promptness and generosity.
