This one is relatively small which is nice if you wish to stay away from the chaos of Mauer park and you may even pick up that piece of vintage WMF or the box of cheap batteries you have been looking for or the tat 70's Berlin memorabilia to give your friends back home as gifts. Check the weather before going to gauge how many stalls will be there. The better the weather the better the market is.

Large contingent of food trucks. Some with draft beer. Popular with locals and the dreaded tourists. But tourists probably spending the most dough here. So don't hate.

Be prepared to bargain and you never know what one might accept for an offer. It's two rows and located next to the Tiergarten S Bahn Station. It's not that big and outside of antiques very little else, including food options. It's open on Sundays I believe but as it was a long weekend it was open on Saturday which is when we went there. It's a nice way to spend a morning looking for odds and sods. Unless I was looking for antiques, jewellery or odd bits of things I probably would not come here.

There are many things you can get here that are unique however but you'll have to pay more than a reasonable price for them and may have to negotiate with a less than friendly seller to boot, although I'm glad to say there are many who are friendly and helpful too, and if you are really lucky, really lucky, you may just find that bargain you have been searching for.

Thankfully I know enough German to get by, but I know it was more of a challenge for my traveling companions. It's really worth going to have an authentic Berlin experience!

It has…read moreStamps, coins and Postcards, mostly from the time of the second world war, as well as books, and the normal kinds of stuff you find at flea markets. It's a little more expensive due to it being in a tourist area but bargains can be had. There is an Art market further up the same road and it's one or the few remaining streets where you can find unrepaired walls covered in bullet holes from the second world war giving a small insight into the intensity of the fighting in the area. Definitely worth a look!
